Condon changed the name of the store to Dutch Bros. Coffee Company in 1951 and closed it in 1957. In 1978, Dutch Bros.'s brother-in-law, Donny Schmitt purchased the business from Frank Condon and reopened it as Dutch Bros.' Gourmet Coffee Shop with an emphasis on Belgian waffles and Belgian chocolate cake products. In 1992, Hickory Hills became home to its first espresso machine when Giovanni's Espresso debuted at Dutch Bros'. Gourmet Coffee Shop. Italian immigrants started making espresso here in the early 1800s and this has been one of Dutch Bros.'s most popular products ever since!

The early Egyptians used Sumerian beans which were specifically grown in Anbar province in Iraq. In 1795, Frenchmen Pierre-Joseph Proudhon and François Morelle discovered caffeine glands on the chestnut tree (Prunus lanatus) in Martinique and began to study how to make coffee using these plants. They found that when they dried these fruits, they left a black mud mass that was ground into small pieces and mixed with water to produce a cup of coffee. The first espresso machine was invented by Angelo Felici in 1810 during the Kingdom of Italy. This machines used hot water heated by an oven or stovetop on top of a pot with grounds that were added directly to the pot like at home today! As time went on, different methods were developed for making espresso such as using forced air or steam heating systems; however, all types of machines produced high-quality Kopfelschmiede (or Italian cappuccinos). In 1912 Alfred Nobel founded The Coffee Factory in Stockholm, Sweden which became one of the leading manufacturers and marketers of fine European espresso drinks such as calliope (coffee made with milk but flavored with vanilla extract), lungo (a long drink made from five estate coffees), cortado (a quick cup combining two previous roastings), americano (made from roasted beans brought up fresh), etcetera

Hickory Hills is a small town in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 8,827 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. The first settler in Hickory Hills was John Sunkin who arrived in 1819. Hickory Hills was platted on February 15, 1837 by David Dixon and James Cushing under the name of "Hickory Grove Township". On December 12, 1847, it was renamed "Hickory Hills", after the hickories that were being grown there at that time. In 1925, Hickory Hills became one of two towns to be annexed into Chicago as a result of the split up of Cook County into five districts (the other being Blue Island). In 1963 it lost its own charter and became a part of Chicago's 51st ward which also included parts of Lawndale and West Side neighborhoods outside the city limits. On January 1, 2014, Hickory Hills become an incorporated village with full voting rights within Cook County; this followed another annexation by Chicago on July 1 sweetening its deal with Mayor Rahm Emanuel to annex more villages into his department as part of his plan to create more convenient communities around downtownChicago. As a village it has elections held every year on November 4th - becoming one of only three villages in Illinois Granted Incorporation status since 1990.
