Glenview, Illinois is a village in Cook County, Illinois, United States. It is the seat of Cook County. The population was 107,041 at the 2010 census. Glenview was incorporated as a village on December 14, 1887. The name "Glenview" comes from the settler George Glencross and his wife Anne (née Hirsch). In 1899, it became one of the towns in DuPage County when that county was created from part of Chicago. On November 2, 1906, Glenview voters passed a referendum to join with other villages in DuPage County to form an independent city called "GlenVIEW". The vote failed by three votes to one.
