This company became known as Brouwer & Van Beuningen Coffee Roasters. From this humble beginnings, the company slowly grew into one of the leading coffee producers in Europe. In 1971, Brouwer & Van Beuningen merged with Butterscotch & Johnsons Coffee Company to form butterscotch&johnsons coffee corporation (BCA). This merger made BCA one of the world’s leading coffee companies by producing more than 1 billion cups of ground coffee a year. During the 1970s and 1980s, BCA was also responsible for creating some of today’s most popular brands such as Dunkin Donuts®, Starbucks®, KFC®, Burger King®and Pizza Hut®. Today, BCA continues to produce groundbreaking small batch coffees that continue to create memories for those who try them.

Glen Carbon, Illinois was a small town in the county of McHenry, Illinois. The population was 2,059 at the 2000 census. It is located in the north-central portion of the state. The name comes from a stream that runs through the community. The first settler in Glen Carbon was John Aitken who arrived there in 1814. He named his farm Glen Carbon after his home country Scotland. In 1825, James Kapp bought land from Aitken and erected a cabin on what is now Main Street. By 1830, three other families had moved to Glen Carbon and started a gristmill on Elm Street which continued to function until 1922 when it stopped production due to lack of water resources. The first post office operated in Glen Carbone from 1835 to 1840; it opened under the name "Caroline". From 1840 to 1865, it was called "Glen Carbone". From 1865 until 1890, it was called "Garland." In 1893, it became "Glen Carbon". In 1902, it changed its name again to "Glen Caron". In 1907–08 (the only year for which statistics are available), Glen Carbon had an enrollment of 138 students and 21 teachers; these numbers decreased by 3 percent during 1908-09 due partly to World War I and partly because of strikes by teachers throughout Illinois schools that year. During 1909-10 (the last full school year), enrollment increased by 5 percent as students left for military service overseas or went off to college; this increase qualified as an academic increase rather than a growth effect since all other factors remained constant between 1907 and 1910. When World War I ended in November 1918 without any combat occurred near Glencarbon or within Illinois borders, most residents returned home before too long seeking opportunities for reemployment elsewhere once peace had resumed following hostilities that lasted more than two years across Europe particularly with implications for agriculture yields throughout much of North America including Chicago where vast areas were devastatedmajorityoffarmlandsweredepopulatedalthougha small percentage still remains todayintwentyfivestatesandcountries
