In 2006, Darcy's coffee Enterprises bought out Geneva Coffee's share of the business for $2 million.

Geneva, Illinois is a small town in the northwestern part of the U.S. state of Illinois. The population was 2,570 at the 2000 census and 2,993 as of the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. Geneva was founded in 1864 by Major General John J. Pershing and his wife Clara Pemberton as a military post on the banks of the Des Plaines River. The first post office was established in 1865 and named for Geneva, Switzerland. The town grew rapidly due to its location on Lake Michigan and its easy access to transportation including railroads and boats that brought goods overland from Indiana and Canada. In 1882, Geneva became an incorporated village when it merged with neighboring townships to form a local government under one mayor-council system. The village rapid growth continued until 1906 when it lost its charter because of financial problems caused by high crime rates coupled with an increase in automobiles ownership in nearby cities such as Chicago. During World War I, Geneva served as a base for American forces engaged in combat against German troops throughout Europe; during World War II, it also served as a POW camp for Japanese Americans who were held prisoner during the war years between 1941-1945 In 1957, Geneva became an official city within Chicago when it was granted city status by Mayor Richard Jaffe after years of petitioning from residents who felt their community had been neglected by City Hall. In 1976, following annexation by Cook County following consolidation with other villages within Cook County, Geneva's total population reached 3,397 people making it one of the largest villages within Chicago limits at that time Since then,Geneva has made strides to become involved in both local and national issues through its citizens' organizations such as "The Genevan Foundation" which promotes cultural diversity among various demographic groups within Geneva; its recent addition to Mayor Emanuel's agenda includes plans for significant redevelopment projects which will include new housing developments (the most notable being a new $50 million sports complex), but also includes proposals aimed at increasing accessibility while preserving important historical aspects of the town such as its commemorative plaque honoring John J Pershing
