The USS Constitution was one of the first warships built for the U.S. Navy under this treaty and was launched in 1814. She served as a flagship during the War of 1812 and helped lead America’s successful conquest of Canada. In addition, she played a critical role in repelling a British fleet at sea in 1813 and later blockade runner operations against Spanish ports during the Mexican-American War (1846-1848). Throughout its years of service, Constitution continued to berepairable and easily able to expand or contract her crew depending on circumstances; this made her an ideal vessel for deployments around the world while also providing opportunities for cultural exchanges with other nations’ navies. In 1924, she was transferred from assignment to become part of Destroyer Squadron Ninety-Six (DesRon 6) which operated out of Pearl Harbor until her decommissioning in 1972 after serving more than 50 years throughout five wars including World War II, The Korean War, Vietnam, The Persian Gulf War and Desert Storm/1991 Operation Neptune Spear. Geneva, Illinois is a small town in the northwest corner of St. Louis County, Missouri. The population was 2,609 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Springfield metropolitan area. Geneva was platted in 1836 and named for Genoa, Italy. The village is located on a bend in the Meramec River and has a crossing over the river by an old ferry landing which still stands. The post office opened in 1839 and closed in 1909; it reopened as a general store in 1911. A churches were built there: First Presbyterian (1841), United Methodist (1861), and Baptist (1868). In 1925, Geneva annexed what is now Park Township to its east side; that same year, it became part of St. Louis County through an act of the General Assembly. In 1956, it became one of sixteen townships within St. Louis County established through township consolidation legislation passed by then-Governor Francis Schaeffer; it remained so until 2001 when it reverted to its previous boundaries as part of a larger reorganization of municipalities within state government that eliminated most rural areas inside St.Louis County and added six new townships—the three located within Missouri’s capital city—to make up the Gateway City Micropolitan Statistical Area (GCOMA). As one result of GCOMA's creation, Geneva lost some tax revenue but gained other benefits such as access to better transportation links outside their town limits through MOZTRAX services operated by MetroLink subsidiary STL Transit Authority; easier access to education opportunities available through participate institutions including Saint Louis University/MOE School District campuses located just north of Geneva on I-55 near Ferguson Highway; increased competition from more heavilypopulated Gateway Cities throughout Missouri for jobs and housing development opportunities resulting in prices for homes here being lower than those found elsewhere within GCOMA; recent efforts by several local elected officials to revive businesses which have declined or been abandoned due largely to technological advances leading to job displacement among older residents working longer hours outside traditional roles etc.; many recent residents having returned home after living temporarily outside their town during large scale redevelopment projects taking place throughoutGatewayCity
