Alan changed the company's name to Harry &Alan's Coffee Company and began marketing maga coffee as their own distinct product line. Harry &Alan's Coffee Company became one of America's most successful commercial enterprises during the early 1960s when they began exporting maga coffee to many countries around the world. By 1966, Harry &Alan's had become one of America's largest importers of specialty coffees - importing more than two hundred different types of specialty coffees from around the world each year! Galesburg is a small city in central Illinois, United States. The population was 27,725 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Cook County and part of the Chicago metropolitan area. Galesburg was settled by German immigrants in 1813. The original name for the town was "Hahndorf". Galesburg experienced some growth during World War II as important manufacturing and research facilities were established there such as Monsanto and Westinghouse. Today, Galesburg remains a bedroom community for Chicago with many small businesses and households characteristic of Midwestern suburbs. The first settlers to Galesburg arrived from Germany in 1813 when three men, Johann Friedrich Heydenreich, Johann Gottlieb Kapp, and Michael Kapp sailed from Hamburg on the ship "Buda" on October 25th. They landed near what is now Jacksonville Landing on Long Island Sound.Kapp's brother-in-law built a cabin where he lived until 1830 when he sold it to John Tillinghast who named it Hahndorf after his friend, Hans Dörtheimer von Heidenreich (1762-1827). In 1837 Jöns Georg Wessels bought land east of present day Hahn Road from David Starr Jordan for $2 per acre (1¢ per foot). When Wessels died in 1858 his heirs divided his land among themselves but never developed it because they desired to keep it undeveloped as part of their religious beliefs about nature's will which dictated that no one should own more than 10% of any given piece of land. For several years starting in 1794 different families tried to purchase or inherit property northeast of present day North Avenue between Harrison Street and Delaware Street but all sales were refused because no one wanted development rights adjacent to their farmssteadings bordering Lake Michigan! A group led by physician Drury de la Salle finally purchased nine acres southeast of North Avenue (now called Weiland Road) from Nicholas Prentice in 1800 for $100 per acre including site improvements which included a millrace running into the river below.) La Salle named this tract "Galeiros" after two temples dedicated to Athena/Zeus located at Athens/Hermiouanum (near modern day Stonington)and Heraclea(present day Grevensville),Netherlands respectively.(-) After purchasing additional property northwest of present day Erie Boulevard westward along what is now Roosevelt Road they founded what would become Galesberg on December 12th 1800 by incorporating under an assumed name with fifty five members! Incorporating changed nothing about their religious beliefs about nature’s will which dictated that only those owning over 10% agricultural land could call themselves “citizens”!) . George Washington Irving christened this place “Hagiwara”after Mount Hagiaion () near modern day Patras,, Greece while others renamed it “Langsdorf”after Lauenburg Castle () northwest of Dresden,, Germany.(-) In 1824 another group attempted to purchase or inherit property northeastof presentday North Avenue between Harrison Street and Delaware Street but all sales were refused because no one wanted development rights adjacentto their farmssteadings bordering Lake Michigan!
