Tactical Coffee is a coffee shop located in Franklin Park, Illinois. The coffee shop was opened in 2006 by brothers Brent and Jason Fenton. It is known for its wide variety of coffee drinks, as well as its unique atmosphere. Tactical Coffee has been featured on local television and online channels, most notably WGN-TV's "The Morning Show." Journalist Michael Nagle also visited the coffee shop in early 2009 to document the growth of the business. In late 2009, Tactical Coffee became one of the first businesses to receive a doubling investment from Chicago Ventures LLC. Franklin Park has been home to many different types of businesses over the years. These include grocery stores and convenience stores, as well as cafés and restaurants. One of the earliest Cafés in Franklin Park was Lombardi's Italian Cafe which was opened in 1963 by Luigi Lombardi Jr.. Many other Cafes followed throughout the years; some that are still open today include: Joe's Pizza (which closed in 2002), La Pinta (closed in 2006), Dutch Bros., The Polish Connection (opened 1984), The Arlington Tavern (opened 1990), Donatelli & Sons Italian Restaurant (open 2003), Pete's Pizza 'N' Pastas(opened 1994) and Buffalo Bill's Barbecue restaurant(opened 1984). One of the most notable restaurants that once operated in Franklin Park was Steak 'n' Shake which opened in 1984 by Rick Steves. This restaurant served American steak dishes such as burgers, steaks, chicken breasts and fish entrees along with shakes made from ice cream, milk or fruit juices. In 2010, Steak 'n' Shake announced it would close its doors at their location near Interstate 55 after 15 years of operation. However, this did not mean that all good things had ended for Steak 'n' Shake; they reopened under new ownership less than two weeks later at their current location on West Side Highway with a brand new menu designed specifically for Franklin Park residents including items like pulled pork sandwiches and bacon wrapped dates! Another notable restaurant that operated from 1986 until 2001 was Mrs.'s Chinese Bazaar which served Cantonese food such as noodles, rice bowls and egg Foo Youngs along with various drinks such as tea or hot chocolate while also housing an arcade complete with games like Pac-Man and Donkey Kong among others during those days. In 2010 Mrs.'s Chinese Bazaar petitioned City Hall to be given a zoning change which would allow them to reopen within city limits but were unsuccessful at that time. However, they have since received permits to reopen at 501 N Main Street inside what used formerly been occupied by Joes Grocery located just off I-55 North near State Line Road!
