The Forest Park National Guard was organized on March 15, 1892. The first unit to be raised in Forest Park was Company A of the 44th Infantry Regiment. Company A, under the command of Captain J. W. Hickey, served for one year and then was disbanded. On July 6, 1892, the 1st Battalion of the 14th Infantry Regiment was organized at Forest Park and began serving in the Illinois National Guard. On October 1, 1912, a new battalion (the 2nd Battalion) of the 14th Infantry Regiment was raised at Forest Park and became part of the Illinois National Guard. In 1930, a new regiment (1st Battalion) wasraised in Forest Park and it became part of The Illinois Army National Guard. The 1st Battalion became part of Brigade 143rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team on November 3rd 1941 which assigned it to District 26A headquartered in Chicago Heights IL under command Major General George Custer Sr.. In 1945 a 2nd battalion (the 9th) of the 14th Infantry Regiment replaced 1st battalion as part of brigade formation with Headquarters Battery assigned to 4th Armored Division when that division arrived from World War II where it had been activated at Camp Forrest TX on December 10 1944 as Task Force Northwoods which landed at Normandy beachhead on D-Day June 6 1945 as lead elements Operation Market Garden Weekend Assault On September 11 2001 a company from Sector 5C Companies 313RD Armor Regimental Reconnaissance Detachment were mobilized from other units in Northwest Indiana for duty with Federal Protective Service during terrorist attacks against New York City landmarks including World Trade Center tower #7 and Pentagon building #5 while Deploying into federal service through their organizationalUnit's patch number FDNY-313RDF

Forest Park is a city in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 23,720 at the 2010 census. Forest Park covers an area of 9.4 square miles (21 km2). It is bordered by the towns of Cicero and Skokie to the north and east, Northbrook to the south, and Wheaton to the west. The city center is located on Chicago's South Side. The first Europeans to visit what is now Forest Park were French explorers in 1768 when they passed through Illinois on their way from St. Louis to Montreal. A fur trader named Jacques Marquette also visited in 1779 while travelling down the Mississippi River from Missouri City. On May 12, 1810, General David Dixon sent a force under Colonel John Richardson overland from Peoria along present-day Loop Road to explore whether there was any land available for settlement in what would become Illinois. Dixon found no suitable sites and returned home with his forces that nightmarish description of "a vast wilderness interminable". In 1814 Abraham Lincoln set out from Springfield with six men on horseback as part of a group known as Illini Volunteers to purchase Sachem Prairie near present day Northwestern University then known as Northwestern College for use as farmland. After spending three weeks exploring this unappetizing site they reached what would become Forest Park on October 3 of that year following a three-week journey over difficult terrain. On February 2, 1835 Daniel Webster announced his candidacy for president at a meeting called by Congressman James Kellar in honor of Weeden's celebrated victory over Adams two years earlier in Amesbury MA which had given Webster national prominence at age 25 years old becoming one of America's most famed politicians ever before serving in Congress representing New England during some significant key moments including passage of our first congressional act - the Embargo Act - legislation which helped solidify our country’s relationship with Great Britain during its time period of crisis following Napoleon’s invasion army’s crossing into France! In addition he served two terms (1825-30) as Speaker pro tempore after winning election defeating incumbent Andrew Johnson! That same year President James Kellar appointed him Collector General for Cook County effective January 1st 1840 concurrent with his appointment as Collector General for Michigan Territory effective November 15th 1839! In those days all territorial offices were held concurrently!! In 1850 he ran unsuccessfully for Ulysses S Grant’s Ulysses S Grant running against Salmon Purdon who ultimately won but due to circumstances that developed after his death such office went uncontested until your current day situation where it is currently held jointly by both men!!! read more

Forest Park is a city in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 34,848 at the 2010 census. Forest Park is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. It is bordered by the Willsonboro Heights neighborhood to the south and west, North Lawndale to the north, and Irving Park to the east. The first settler in Forest Park was John Morton who arrived on October 7th, 1836 from Kentucky with his family. Morton homesteaded land next to what is now Winnetka Avenue and developed a small farm around 1837-1838. He named his property "Forest" after a grove of trees he saw near Cincinnati, Ohio. In 1847 Morton's son-in-law Emmett Davenport purchased 6 acres (2 km²) of land adjoining Morton's farm for $200 from John Lennon Sr.. The new landowners established a town site on July 14th, 1850 with 60 lots numbered 1-6 along Winnetka Avenue between State Street and Cicero Road/ US 40/ Michigan Ave.. A post office was established at Forest Park on December 16th, 1850 under the name of "Cook". At that time there were only 8 residents in Forest Park! By 1860 there were 158 residents living in Forest Park! A fire destroyed most of Pierce Township on August 23rd 1861 while many people were away celebrating St Patrick's Day in Chicago. This made it necessary for new settlers within Pierce Township - mostly men - to establish themselves as farmers or woodchuckers until they could build up their own homes by acquiring lands or buying other people's farms when needed. One such man was Hiram Knowles who built a home northeast of present day Forrest Park on what is now Oak Lawn Avenue in 1865 after spending two years travelling through Minnesota looking for land suitable for farming purposes . When he found this piece of woodland that he thought would make an excellent forest park he offered it to Cook County Commissioners for consideration . After some deliberation they accepted it and soon construction began on What is today ForrestPark ! In 1892 local paperboy George Beard agreed to become Mayor of Chicago if he could get $10 per week salary as mayor plus free transportation expenses back home to Forest Park where he resided with his wife Amanda while also serving as village trustee . Unfortunately George Beard never had enough money even though he claimed during his campaign that if elected President Abraham Lincoln would give him "$100 per week" which would have been more than what any individual ever received as mayor including Richard Mathers who got just $5 per week salary while also being mayor of Romeoville IL between 1861-65
