These days are now known as "Air Forces Days." From 1965 through 1969, gifts were sent out annually to celebrate Thanksgiving Week in America. From 1970 through 1974, donations were given out annually to recognize Christmas week in America; these days are now known as "Christmas Gifts." Since 1975, there has been an annual event called "Gift History Weekend" which coincides with National Military Appreciation Day and celebrates air force deployments throughout American history from 1944 through present day.Every year since 2007, Elmhurst College hosted "Gift History Month".This celebration includes lectures on various aspects ofairforce gift history along with exhibition displays ofairforce memorabilia from aroundthe country
