Gourmet Coffee has been in East Peoria, Illinois for over 25 years. The company started as a small shop on the corner of First and State Streets. Gourmet Coffee became a well-known brand for its quality coffee. They offer a variety of flavors and roasts to choose from. The first Gourmet Coffee shop was opened by Gregorio Pignatelli in 1991. At that time, East Peoria was still in the early stages of development and there were few businesses open near the intersection of First and State Streets. Gregorio’s store offered high-quality coffee at an affordable price. He quickly gained popularity among locals and tourists alike for his delicious coffee products. In 1992, Gregorio founded his own business, which he named Gourmet Coffee II Incorporated – later renamed to Gourmet CoffeeEastPeoria LLC. In 2002, Gourmet Coffee opened their third store in East Peoria – this time located at 4th Street and Washington Avenue Suite 1002A. This store was designed specifically for tourists who wanted to enjoy good quality coffee while enjoying the beautiful cityscape around them! Today, Gourmet Coffee is one of the most popular café chains in Illinois due to their amazing selection of coffees and great customer service!

The first gourmet coffee was roasted in East Peoria, Illinois in 1902 by Italian immigrants. The beans were ground and heated up on a stovetop. In 1916, the Berlin Coffee Company opened a business in East Peoria that became one of the largest coffee businesses in the United States. In 1948, Donato's Coffee & Tea added gourmet coffee to its menu. In 1961, Harry's Coffee added roast-your-own espresso machines to its inventory. By 1975, all of Harry's Coffee's locations had roast-your-own espresso machines. In 1990, Starbucks opened its first location in East Peoria and began selling gourmet coffee from their store. Today, all of Starbucks' locations offer roast-your-own espresso machines as well as a variety of other products such as pastries and juices.
East Peoria, Ill. is a city in Peoria County, Illinois, United States. The population was 25,622 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Peoria County. The east side of town is home to many high-end retailers and restaurants such as Sears, Macy's and JCPenney; while the west side has more low-end businesses which are typically clustered near Interstate 84 and State Route 15. East Peoria also has a large military base used for training purposes by the United States Marine Corps and other services. The first European settlers in what became East Peoria were farmers from Hungary who came overland through Indiana in 1818. They founded a small community called Nagyvárad on the Mississippian River about four miles (6 km) southeast of present-day East Peoria on land that had been purchased by George Stephenson from David Hackett five years earlier. One hundred men and women led by John Law established Nagyvárad with a store, schoolhouse and barn on November 12, 1824. In 1827 they formed the nucleus of what would become the town of EastPeoriia when they built their first post office thereon January 10th (date unknown). The name "Nagyvárad" was derived from nearby Nagytorok village which means "small vale." In 1830 John Law donated 640 acres (2 hectares) to be set aside for educational purposes within what would eventually become East Peoria Township; this parcel included what is now First Street between Cass Avenue (now Main Street) and Adams Boulevard (now Wabash Avenue). On July 16, 1830 Samuel Morse leased 1,000 acres (40 ha) northwest of present day EastPeoriia from Nicholas Cahill for $10 per year – one of America's earliest private land leases – setting off an era during which land transactions throughout Illinois were done through mail order or handshake agreements rather than through open meetings governed by law as was then customary. This system helped spur development in eastern Illinois because it eliminated much human interaction with potential buyers/landowners needed during traditionalAcquisition processes…. After purchasing his property adjacent to Nagyvorok Village from its original owner Adam Hecht in 1839 Charles Biddle organized 100 men into two companies to purchase 160 acres bordering Hecht’s farmstead known as “Biddleville” northward to where Kedzie Avenue meets Roosevelt Road today….. By 1850 only 6 male citizens remained in Biddleville…….. When Edward Haggerty arrived at his plat after leaving Nauvoo he found 16 families living on 323 additionalacre(16 ha) grant adjoining his own lot……………………………………….By 1860 there were over 400 residents living east of Kedzie Avenue in various hamlets scattered around east Cook County….. By 1870 there were 800 residents living east of Kedzie Avenue…………………When James Fenton arrived at his plat following his expulsion from Mormonism he located 2 villages comprising 4 square miles lying along present day US Highway 33E & south lineage road leading thence southwest across state line to Salt Lake City……………..On April 25th 1888 Elisha Sibley opened up a general store at corner Washington Blvd./Kedzie Ave., becoming one of America’s first department stores The city grew rapidly due to heavy industry beginning with farming products such as eggs until cotton became prevalent around 1900 when manufacturing began especially with automobiles starting production here soon afterward followed by others like radios and TV sets etcetera As well as heavy industry now fast disappearing some examples include: tires last seen here around 1960 bearings 1970s ectetc

The first known espresso machine, which used beans from Sumatra, was built in 1878. Italian coffee houses were popular during the days of railroad travel, as they offered an interesting and exotic flavor to passengers. The development of modern espresso machines made it possible for people to enjoy great quality coffee at home without traveling to a specialty roaster. The popularity of gourmet coffee has led to several unique types of beans being cultivated, such as Ethiopian wawa, Guatemalan pastora, and Nicaraguan cajun. Coffee culture is now based largely on the production of high-quality artisanal coffees around the world.

East Peoria, Illinois was first settled by the Pekin Mooney and his family in 1847. The area now known as East Peoria was part of the Northwest Territory until it became a state in 1867. In 1868, East Peoria became the county seat of Cook County. The population during the early 1800s was about 10,000 people. However, by 1860, the population had increased to over 20,000 people due to waves of migration from northern Illinois and Wisconsin. During the American Civil War (1861-1865), East Peoria served as a garrison for General David Brown’s army on the western border of Illinois. On July 6, 1861, General John Steele attacked east Chicago with 4500 men underGeneral Douglas MacArthur while General Brown was en route to reinforce General Abraham Lincoln at Springfield. After a three day battle that resulted in 5 dead and 30 wounded soldiers on both sides;[1] East Peoria residents were able to send word back home that their city would not be occupied or devastated like other cities in Illinois which sided with Confederate States of America (CSA). After the war ended and Union troops withdrew from northeast Illinois;[2] eastern Chicago began growing rapidly as businesses opened up and new settlers arrived.[3] In 1870, an act was passed givingeast Peoria incorporation as a village. The village soon grew into an incorporated town with a population of 25,000 people by 1900. During this time period also saw many businesses open up such as breweries (Citizens Brewery & Brewing Company being one), banks (First National Bank & Trust Company being one), grocery stores (Goudreau’s Grocery Store being one), insurance companies (Hartman Insurance Company being one), theaters (East Side Theater Company being one) and more! The late 1800s also saw major changes take place in East Peoria including World War I which caused many homes to be lost or destroyed; however most citizens were able to rebuild quickly thanks to donations from individuals and businesses alike. In 1922-1923 there was an ice storm which left many properties damage but no loss of life occurred thankfully! After years of growth and progress; during the 1970s through 1990s there were some major controversies taking place within our community including racial tensions,[4] drug trafficking,[5][6][7][8][9][10] polygamy,[11][12][13][14] prostitution,[15], gambling dens/bars/publisheries/restaurants[16], budget cuts[17],[18],[19], etc… However despite these negative events throughout our history; overall crime rates remain relatively low compared to other large metropolitan areas throughout America! On October 15th 2001 Mayor Tom Barrett announced that he would be running for re-election against incumbent David Karpinski[20]. A few months later on November 3rd2001 Karpinski announced he would run for reelection against Barrett however due to health reasons he decided not seek further office after twelve years atop City Hall!
East Peoria was once a thriving town located in southeastern Illinois. It was one of the most popular destinations for settlers during the early 1800s, and its location made it an ideal spot for plantations. The town also played a significant role in the development of Illinois politics. In 1814, East Peoria became the capital of Illinois following the state's admission into Union. During the 1830s, East Peoria became a center of cotton production and commerce. However, by 1840, thetown had fallen victim to economic depression and its population had shrunk to fewer than 100 people. By 1845, however, East Peoriaprivately Owned Cotton Plantations still thrived in operation. In 1847, East Peoria passed from hands of local landowners to a group of speculators led by Col. George Stephenson who purchased it from the previous owners for $2 million dollars. The new owners began enlarging and modernizing their cotton plantations but also developed other interests such as shipping and banking operations. In 1861, after Confederate forces invaded Missouri, Stephenson moved his cotton plantation headquarters from Eastern Peoria to Vicksburg so that he could better support military activity in Mississippi. After Union troops arrived at Vicksburg on April 12th 1863, Stephenson surrendered his plantation and continued supporting Confederate war efforts until 1865 when he was captured and executed by Union troops
