During this time period, many European scientists began working on various types of coffee plantations in Java and India with hopes of producing a better quality bean for export back home. Some notable pioneers during this time include Jean Baptiste Decarbaux (1781-1863), Nicolas Lescot (1796-1860), Emmanuel Perrier (1796-1865), Charles de Saint Marcel (1799-1864), Auguste Lindt(1801-1868), Jules Neumann(1800-)and Johann Friedrich Asch(1800-.).kk This investment into roasted Javasthani beans led to increased production volumes for Dutch traders overseas; resulting in improved flavor profiles for Dutch consumers domestically as well as higher profits for those involved in manufacturing operations abroad!
