The Dolton Marine Barracks, now the Marine Corps Reserve Center, was a World War II military base in Dolton, Illinois. It was home to the 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines from 1944-1945 and the 1st Battalion, 9th Marines from 1945-1946. The battalion was deactivated on 15 August 1946. The barracks served as the local armory until it closed its doors in 1970. In 1978, the 3rd Battalion (5th Marines) of the Illinois National Guard's 121st Infantry Regiment opened an armory at Dolton Marine Barracks when their unit's original barracks burned down. In 1984-1985, the brigade's Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron also opened at Dolton Marine Barracks when their headquarters building collapsed during a storm. In 1990-1991, when all three units of the Illinois National Guard's 116th Infantry Regiment relocated to Joliet - which made itAmerica’s first marine brigade - Dolton Marine Barracks became their new headquarters and garrison site for infantry troops deploying to Operation Desert Storm. On 12 October 2006, approximately 350 marines from California had deployed to Iraq aboard USS Iwo Jima (LHD 4) as part of Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom; this event is generally called "the largest deployment of U.S. service members since World War II." The following year saw a similar deployment with more than 400 marines from New York City Deploying aboard USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 73) through Maritime Security Cooperation Agency escort operations off Kuwait City as part of Multinational Force–Iraq (MISF). These deployments were conducted utilizing Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam airfields near Honolulu Hawaii under Central Command commandant Gen Raymond Odierno’s control; he directed these exercises in order to improve interoperability within coalition forces and reduce potential conflicts between coalition nations’ militaries working together against terrorism or insurgencies outside their own borders Dolton has been host city for many different types of military events over time such as: Air Show Demonstrations by Naval Air Station Patuxent River; Soldier Games by Army Garrison Division Fort Riley; American Legion Postball Game Tournament held annually at Camp Douglas HIlls; United States Sheriff’s Association Shootout Competition held annually at Camp Perryhill; Navy Gunnery School cadet program graduation ceremonies Held annually at Dahlgren Field; Illini Softball Classic between Purdue University and Notre Dame University played annually in May at Olivet Nazarene Park adjacent to USO located on State Street just east of Ironton Rd., celebrating college softball championships dating back to 1921

Dolton is a small town in Kane County, Illinois, United States. The population was 3,526 at the 2010 census. Dolton is located on the southern edge of Kane County. It is southwest of Chicago and northwest of Evanston. Dolton lies within Cook Country National Forest. The community was founded in 1872 by David Dolton and his brother-in-law, John Fenton. They named it for their father, Daniel Dolton, who had died two years earlier in a hunting accident near the village. The first store opened in 1875 and the first post office in 1876. The original mill was built in 1879 by Hiram Blackwell and it still operates as a grain elevator to this day. In 1916, Harry Henniker bought the mill from Blackwell and began operating it as a cotton gin until he sold it to Jens Olsen in 1923. Olsen operated it as an oil refinery before selling it to William Kapp Jr., who operated it as an agricultural cooperative until his death in 1978. Kapp's widow, Jeanne (Kapp) Kapp remaining CEO until 2000 after which she passed ownership to her son William Jens Olsen III who continued running the business until its sale to Archer Daniels Midland Company Incorporated on December 12th, 2006 Dolton has three churches: First Baptist Church (founded 1906), Methodist Episcopal Church (1892), and Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod (founded 1909). After World War II there were also Presbyterian Churches established here: Our Lady of Peace Chapel serving refugees from World War II; Sacred Heart Chapel started up by Mary Ann Mengesbach following a bomb threat against Stroudsburg Presbyterian Church during services on October 24th 1951; Resurrectionist Community Ministries serving homeless veterans since 1984 with support from local businesses including Olive Garden Chinese restaurant; Holy Cross Parish serves communion every Saturday morning beginning September 15th with service at 7am outside parishioners' homes starting at 5pm throughout Advent season; All Saints' Parish closed down due to lack of memberships during 2011-2012 but reopened briefly later that year before being closed again for unknown reasons

Dolton was a small town in McLean County, Illinois, United States. The population was 511 at the 2010 census. Dolton is named after George Dolton, a Revolutionary War soldier and postmaster. George Dolton emigrated to this country from England in 1818. He settled in what is now McLean County, Illinois, on a farm that he bought from John Stephenson. In 1827, George Dolton married Anna Warner and they started an agricultural business together. In 1841, the Doltons moved to their present-day home on West Main Street. They began to sell eggs and poultry products from their home until about 1920 when they transitioned into selling real estate. After Anna's death in 1935, her husband continued operations as a real estate agent until his death in 1957. At his death, his wife left all of her assets to their son-in-law Edwin Tilton Jr., who continues the family business today as Tilton Realty Corporation (TRC). In 1943, Dean Wirths opened the first KFC restaurant in America at 6608 Noland Road in Joliet Township (now part of Bloomingdale). KFC has been headquartered here ever since with more than 1 million customers coming through its doors since its inception! The original KFC building is still standing and can be seen across First Avenue South from TRC's current headquarters just west of I-294/I-355! It also houses the McDermott Museum of American History which tells the story of this iconic fast food restaurant!
