Airforce gift history in Chicago Ridge, Illinois began with the establishment of the United States Air Force in 1947. The air force became one of the most important services within the United States government and it played a critical role in victory in World War II. After the war, the air force continued to grow and expand its reach. In 1990, it was decided that an additional wing would be established within the military for use by civilians. This new wing was named The National Guard Wing and it serves as a branch of the military that is responsible for providing support to local communities. In 1994, The National Guard Wing gifted two Humvees to Chicago Ridge Schools. These vehicles were used to transport students throughout their school days and they helped keep our community organized and safe. Today, The National Guard Wing continues to provide support to Chicago Ridge Schools through donations from members of the civilian population as well as from businesses and individuals who have donated items such as computers, software, clothing, etc.. Chicago Ridge is a small town in Cook County, Illinois. The population was 1,853 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. The village plat for Chicago Ridge was filed on October 2, 1892 by George R. Clements and John Gorman. On July 1, 1893, Chicago Ridge had a population of 10 people and consisted of two houses and a lot on the east side of River Road (now Sherman Avenue). The first post office was established in 1895, and it moved to its current location in 1903. The village grew slowly until World War II when community members drafted plans for what would become the city of Chicago. Construction began on the then new city limits on the west side of River Road in 1946 and ended just short of becoming contiguous with present-day Chicago Ridge. During most of its history as a small town, Chicago Ridge developed primarily through agriculture; however, since 2000 there has been an increase in manufactures including auto parts and software development companies as well as health care businesses such as Alliant HealthCare Partners Inc., which has its corporate headquarters in nearby Downers Grove. In addition to this recent growth potential there are still many agricultural land holdings scattered throughout downtown which remain significant portions of local economy today despite being largely unoccupied due to changing demographics or lack thereof over time.$ Today's skyline visible from River Rd & Griggs Ave can be traced back to 1909 when one house replaced another along that stretch - long before any other buildings were built! Downtown during that time included several large frame stores (Litton’s Department Store building still stands), various banks (First National Bank now Chatham Savings Bank building) & 3 grocery stores: Merchants’ Exchange Bakery (later JBS Grocery), American Can Company Store & Coal Mine Supply store all opened between 1909-1915; these were followed by Pabst Brewing Co., Ford Motor Company plant built 1916-1920 used for production until they closed down after WWII but some remains today including “Pabst Park” across from Walmart complex!

The USAF is one of the two services in the United States Armed Forces, along with the Coast Guard, that are not signed up for government funded healthcare. The USAF operates under a voluntary system where it relies on donations from its members to support its operations. Since its inception, the USAF has given out over 2 million gifts totaling over $5 billion dollars. In particular, the USAF has awarded more than 1,200 medals and awards, including more than 25 National Medals of Honor and more than 100 Distinguished Service Awards.
Chicago Ridge is a small, rural community in Cook County, Illinois. The community was founded in 1881 by Mormon pioneers who left Nauvoo, Illinois to found the town on the Chicago River. The original name of the community was Cedar Grove, but it was changed to Chicago Ridge because of its location on a ridge that offered sweeping views of downtown Chicago. The ridge is also home to one of the largest slagheaps in Cook County and several small businesses. The community has been through many changes over the years, including being annexed by Ottawa in 1922 and then again by Cook County in 1953. In recent years, though,Chicago Ridge has seen a resurgence with growth in agriculture and manufacturing. A number of other businesses have opened up within the past few years including a grocery store and an auto dealership. There are also plans for a new elementary school and a high school as well as development near the Community Center that will include a gym and shopping mall.
The Chicago Ridge was a natural hill in Illinois that rises to 4,951 feet (1,715 m). The ridge is located just east of the city of Chicago and forms the eastern border of Cook County. The ridge runs through the middle of the state and is flanked by Lake Michigan to the north and south, as well as the Cook River to the east.
