Burbank, Illinois is a city in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 87,597 at the 2010 census. It is the tenth-largest city in Illinois and the second-largest city in Chicago metropolitan area. It is also one of the most diverse cities in America. The burbs are located east of downtown Chicago on the border of DuPage County and Kane County. The first Europeans to settle here were French Canadians who came through what is now Burbank during the 1800s looking for land to make a new home. They named their new village after Pierre Boucher, Sieur de La Salle's lieutenant general commanding an expedition against the Algonquins on his way from Quebec to attack Detroit in 1789. In 1847, General John Cossack arrived with 5,000 Russian soldiers as part of General Anthony Wayne's invasion of Illinoisexisting United States territory then under Mexican control. He founded Chicago on this site and named it after himself (Cossack had also been given Illinois by France). In 1854–1855 Cossack's group built Fort Dearborn which served as a military outpost between Chicago and Rockford until it was destroyed by American forces during the War for Independence. In 1865–1866 Wm. Halleck drove out all Native Americans from this region when he became Commissioner of Indian Affairs following Ulysses S Grant's victory over Abraham Lincoln at Gettysburg National Military Park south of Springfield, Missouri; thus beginning white settlement east of downtownChicago within Cook County boundaries only (the City of Chicago extended its boundaries northward into DuPage County following incorporation there in 1868). A post office called "Burbank" was established at nearby Burbank Township on November 7th, 1872 (it was moved to its present location two years later). In 1886 Burbank incorporated as a city separate from Chicagoland due to heavy growth rates across both municipalities and high levels of property values throughout much of suburban Cook County – well beyond what any small town could hope to achieve alone; butburgardians continued refer to their home municipality as "Burbank." It wasn't until 1955 that Burbank started using its current name: "Burlington". The original nameakes reference to Burlington Vermont where George Washington settled along with his family shortly before his death in 1799; making him one half-brother away from both James Kieft (founder/president & CEO / majority owner Fox News) who died young unmarried at age 43 due largely to complications from syphilis contracted while living with Chief Joseph Brantseye near Kingston Ontario - Kieft had intermarried into a wealthy British family some time earlier prior thereto - Brantseye had long been hated by many Indians because he successfully fought them tooth and nail while alive (& still does so today) finally driving them off their ancestral lands ceded pursuant to Treaty #8 dated October 14th 1792 between Great Lakes Iroquois Nation & Kingdom Of England’s Province Of Canada involving Northwest Territory comprising modern day Michigan (@Ontario)& western Pennsylvania (@Pennsylvania), including parts now known as Wisconsin @Wisconsin & Minnesota @Minnesota etc.?

Burbank, Illinois is a town in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 909 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. The first permanent settler in Burbank was John Sutter, who arrived there in 1836. He had come overland from Sacramento and landed on the site of what is now downtown Chicago. Sutter built a log cabin on his farmstead near the present day intersection of State Street and Lake Shore Drive. His family continued to live there until 1848, when they moved to what is now Elmhurst Avenue and Western Road. In 1853, Sutter married Martha Ladd; they had two children before she died in 1857. They remarried in 1865 and had another two children before she also died in 1888. By 1860, Burbank had become an agricultural community with 2 stores, 12 homes, and 30 acres (120 m²) of land cultivated by 120 families; it boasted three churches (Reformed Dutch Church on State Street; Methodist Episcopal Church on Park Avenue; Baptist Church on Elmhurst Avenue), six schools (one for each grade level from kindergarten through high school), one brewery (Old English Brewing Company—now Northwestern Mutual—on Northhalsted Street), one physician (Drury & Co.), four wagon loads of groceries per week for 100 people (!), one post office (Martha Ladd Post Office)—with mail service only once a week due to lack of funds—and five inmates at Joliet Female School for Girls." In 1893-1894 Burbank became known as "the Birthplace of American Basketball" when its recreation ground – later renamed Recreation Ground Field – served as headquarters for the United States Amateur Athletic Association during its annual championships which were held at that time at various venues across America including Philadelphia's Independence Hall. After years hosting AAAs events without much success–perhaps due to lack of money or other resources--Burbank decided to build itself a $10 ($100 values today) baseball diamond which would serve as their home field starting in 1896 although it took another decade until they could raise enough money to construct a more substantial ballpark measuring 25 acres (10 ha). When completed in 1903 it became known as Municipal Stadium after incorporation into the City of Chicago's limits within city boundaries making it finally off limits to residents while still used by organized sports teams such as the Blackhawks/Lakers etc... The park went through numerous expansions throughout its history culminating with its current configuration - an all turf football stadium seating 65,000+ capacity that opened September 26th 2020 with a game between the Red Sox and Cubs!
