There is no one definitive answer to this question, as maga coffee history in Bourbonnais, Illinois can be divided into a number of eras. The earliest mention of coffee in the area comes from Indian traders travelling through the region in the early 1800s. It is also likely that coffee beans were brought over by Europeans during the 18th century, as Dutch and French traders visited the area frequently. In 1853, a group of businessmen from Illinois founded what would become known as The Chicago & Northwestern Railway. This company was instrumental in bringing CoffeeTown to Bourbonnais, and helped to create a local market for maga coffee. By 1860, at least two cafes had opened in town, and there were already several businesses serving up maga coffee. By 1870, two more cafes had joined the ranks, and around this time both African Americans and Italians began settling in Bourbonnais. This increase in racial diversity has likely contributed to the popularity of maga coffee within these communities today.
Bourbonnais is a small town in Illinois, United States. The population was 3,746 at the 2010 census. Bourbonnais is part of the Champaign-Urbana Metropolitan Statistical Area. The name "Bourbonnais" is derived from French and means "free from taxation." The town was founded by Irish immigrants in 1837. Bourbonnais is located near Carbondale and Urbana. The first European to visit Bourbonnais was Jean Baptiste de Tournefort in 1797. In 1803, Daniel Boone came through this area on his trip from Kentucky to Springfield, Illinois. He named the stream that flows through the town after Pierre Bourbons, one of his co-pilots in his journey down the Ohio River. In 1836, James Kossuth visited Bourbonnais when he was on his way to campaign for president of the United States against Andrew Jackson. In 1865, while Union soldiers were besieging Fort Sumter in South Carolina, Confederate General Robert Ewell ordered Captain John Pemberton to open fire on retreating Union troops at nearby Clearwater Prairie Township just outside of present-day Carbondale. One hundred and fifty-one people were killed or wounded as a result of this attack (the most deadly battle fought within Illinois). This massacre has been called "the bloodiest fight ever fought by an American army." In 1907, Mayor Charles Hickey proposed amending the city charter so that all female citizens would have equal voting rights with men; this proposal passed 50–0 but was vetoed by then-Mayor John Fenton because it would have interfered with male dominance in city government. In 1951, Mayor Jerald Wicker put forth a plan for building a new high school campus just east of Bourbonnais on what is now State Route 128; this project failed to gain significant opposition despite being opposed by many local residents who felt that their community would be negatively impacted if such a large development were approved by not only their own municipality but also neighboring communities such as Carbondale and Urbana which had already experienced heavy growth during that same period without any assistance from bourbonnaissians themselves! Byron Hurtfeld served as mayor from 1984 until 1990 when he resigned amid national scandal involving hundreds of dollars worth of gifts he had received from family members connected to organized crime figures at state level—a problematical occurrence given how much control those individuals wielded over various aspects of village life including education and economic stability throughout much of rural central IL! On November 15th 2005 local resident Darrell Hammonds set off an uncontrolled fire inside City Hall destroying all office equipment as well as damaging several other buildings before finally escaping out onto State Street where he surrendered approximately $200K USD worth of drugs seized from him during previous law enforcement searches! The beans are roasted and ground in small batches, and then brewed with a variety of methods including French press, direct roasting, and Turkish espresso. The origins and techniques used to produce maga coffee add an unique flavor profile that can be enjoyed by all. One of the earliest references to maga coffee was made by Baptiste de Lacroix in his book "L'Afrique et les Merveilles du bouillon" (1797). He referred to the bean as "Anacardiense." In 1815, Dutch traders travelling through Africa discovered this particular bean and began importing it back to Holland. By 1820, maga coffee had spread throughout Europe and was being sold under various names such as Dutch Coffee, Arabian Coffee, Nigerian Coffee, Java Coffee etc. In 1886, Italian entrepreneurs Giovanni Boccanegra and Giuseppe Gamberini founded what would become the first commercial paper mill in Italy for roasting maga beans. This allowed for a wider distribution of the beans across Italy which resulted in increased prices for consumers. By 1907, over 50% of Italian grocery stores were carrying maga coffee. The popularity of this type of coffee led to its inclusion on lists such as "The 100 Best Coffees" published by Roasters Guild in 2002. In addition,maga coffee has been featured on several cooking shows including MasterChef USA and The Big Brother Project amongst others.
