Bourbons are also represented locally in both chambers of the Illinois General Assembly as part of the 3rd Congressional District which encompasses most of southern Cook County and parts of northern Kane County as well as some areas inside Chicago itself.

Bourbonnais is a town in central Illinois, United States. The population was 9,711 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Bourbon County. The name "Bourbonnais" comes from the French word for "wine." The first settlers in this area were French Huguenots who arrived in 1795. They built a small cabin on the present site of Bourbonnais after moving from what is now Quebec City, Canada. In 1814, John Pemberton and his brother-in-law, Alexander Henry Elliott founded Pemberton Township in what is now Bourbonnais Township. This township became part of Shawnee County when that county was organized in 1836. It wasn't until 1867 that the first post office was established in Bourbonnais Township; it had been established as Illinois' only mail stop since 1857! The town's incorporation date is October 4, 1870; however, its first mayor and councilors were not elected until May 10th of that year! In 1912, Prohibition led to a decline in trade and business within the town; however, it did not affect neighboring towns such as Joliet or Chicago more than it did Bourbonnais! After repeal of prohibitionism by President Franklin D Roosevelt on December 5th 1933, bourbonNAIS increased trade and began to recover! When World War II broke out over Europe and America's involvement (the war escalated into world conflict), many residents decided to flee to safer havens like Miami or California! However some families chose to stay behind because they could still produce purebred bourbons under government inspection! In 1945–1946 there was another great recession which resulted in many layoffs for workers including those working at local distilleries! However due to efforts made by Mayor James Sprague (who also served as local bank president), bourbonNAIS bounced back rapidly with new investments being made throughout the community including purchasing an old tool mill building used for storage purposes before being renovated into a modern water treatment plant which provides drinking water for all citizens free OF CHARGE!! today’s skyline can be seen looking out onto debt-filled industries across downtown… Today’s bourbons are still handcrafted here – step inside any distillery today and you will see this passion etched plainly on every bottle

Bourbonnais became a small community and manufacturing center during the early 19th century. In 1849, the town incorporated and began to grow rapidly as a result of its strategic location on the Mississippi River. By 1870, Bourbonnais had over 1,000 residents and had become one of the largest towns in Illinois. It experienced significant growth until World War II when it decreased in population due to factors such as industrial development and military occupation. After World War II, Bourbonnais slowly regained its former population size before declining again in the 21st century.
