The United States Air Force (USAF) is the aerial warfare service branch of the Department of Defense, one of the three military departments within the federal government of the United States. The USAF was established in 1947 as a successor to the World War II-era Army Air Forces and is headquartered at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. It has more than 170,000 active duty members and an additional 135,000 civilians employed by variousair forces worldwide. In fiscal year 2017, it provided support to combat missions in over 60 countries. The USAF traces its origins to World War I via two organizations: 1) Aero Club of America (ACA), which was founded on December 14, 1913 in Chicago; 2) National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA). As part of President Franklin D. Roosevelt's New Deal program, Congress created both the Office of Scientific Research and Development (OSRD), headed by Vice President Henry Wallace, and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). On July 20, 1938, during Franklin D. Roosevelt's first term as president, he issued Executive Order 13436 which organized all aspects of air warfare under one umbrella name - "Aerial Combat Command". This order designated General Hugh Dowding as commander-in-chief with authority to regulate all aspects of aerial combat including navigational flying tests; establish guidelines for fighter production; develop tactics for strategic bomber operations; manage airfields; provide command and control services for ground forces engaged in ground battle against Axis Forces; conduct studies on free fall bombing methods used against enemy targets from high altitude

Bensenville is a town in Kane County, Illinois, United States. The population was 9,651 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. The name "Bensenville" is derived from General Michael Bensen's 1837 purchase of 640 acres (250 hectares) in what is now Bensenville Township and bounded by the present day communities of Bloomingdale, Winnetka Hills, Northbrook and Schaumburg. The annexation of neighboring areas by Bensenville in 1889 led to its current size with a total population of 10,711 as of the 2000 census. In 1907 it became one of twelve townships in Kane County which were organized into divisions named after generals in World War I- President William McKinley's daughter Jennie serving as first township president and later as fifth district attorney general. In 1969 Bensenville High School was founded with grades 8th through 12th grade students living on both sides of Sherman Road until an addition was made to the high school campus in 1998 that provides enough space for all students to be students on one campus. Today Bard College offers undergraduate degrees at Bard College–Anchor Campus located across Rome Road from Bensenville High School

In 1919, the USAF was created as part of the new National Defense Act and became operational under General James “Jimmy” Arnold. Arnold led America through World War II and played a significant role in developing jet aircraft into a successful military force. Today, thanks to its powerful jets and active duty member base, the USAF is one of America’s most lethal forces. Its legacy includes providing security for our citizens nationwide; fighting global threats such as terrorism; conducting humanitarian assistance missions; support operations in Iraq and Afghanistan;and more.

Bensenville, Illinois is a small town located in the northwest corner of Illinois. The population was 8,811 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Quad Cities metropolitan area. Bensenville was founded on May 25, 1847 by James Bensen and his wife Sarah Ann. James and Sarah were married in Avila, Kansas. They moved to Peoria, Illinois in 1849 and started a grocery store there. They also built a home there which still stands today. In 1853 they opened a post office in Bensenville and soon became one of the most important localities in the area. Over time they began to develop their own businesses such as lumberyards and agricultural enterprises. By 1915 they had become an international center for Czechoslovakian express shipping services due to their location at the mouth of the Des Plaines River. However during World War I Bensenville suffered significant damage from German shelling; it lost over 50% of its buildings including many homes and businesses. After the war it regained some prosperity thanks to new transportation connections made by Interstate 94 and other highways; however this prosperity short-lived when nylon production resumed in nearby Carbondale after 1945 but before Bensenville could benefit from it, market conditions shifted again making Nylon more expensive than earlier materials so business dried up again In recent years things have begun to improve for Bensenville thanks to some redevelopment efforts led by Mayor David Klinkenberg with support from private donors as well as city councilbiaward members Lisa Morelli (D), Donny Klinkenberg (R), John Mellor (I) & Kathy Slaughter (D). One key initiative has been hiring new officials who will work towards creating more economic development opportunities for Bibenvillians while preserving cultural heritage sites like The Pruyn House Museum which are used primarily for educational purposes One unique aspect about this community is that it has always been racially diverse with both white & black residents living together until recently . This diversity helped contribute to its strong sense of community identity throughout history which continues today Bensonville’s rich history can be traced back over 150 years ago when James Bensen first arrived here from Avila, Kansas looking for farmland where he could start a farmstead with his family . He found plenty of land but no water so he pioneeried finding ways to supply himself through irrigation systems then developed his own mill which processed cornmeal into flour, mealiebuns & even cake mix! His descendants continued farming here until around 1950 when products began moving away from Midwest markets into Canada because those prices were too high Heirless James’ grandson Roy Ladd bought out his father-in-law’s share of holdings back in 1951 becoming sole owner & patriarch continuingGrowing operations till present day Today Bibenvillians enjoy excellent quality foods without havingto leave their house! Bensenville was founded in 1847 by Solomon Bensen and his wife, Sally. The town was named for John Bensen, a wealthy landowner who donated the land to the town. The first post office in Bensenville was established in 1868. In 1907, the town became a city and has since grown significantly.
