In 1916, the company moved its operations to a new facility located in downtown Belvidere. In 1927, the company became part of the Park Central Coffee Company chain. In 1978, the company merged with Park Central Coffee Corporation and changed its name to Park Central Coffee & Tea Inc.
Belvidere is a small town in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 7,474 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Cook County. Belvidere was founded in 1827 by General James Belcher as a military garrison on the Chicago-St. Louis Railroad main line. The town quickly grew and became an important transportation center for agricultural goods and passenger traffic between Chicago and St. Louis. In 1854, the Chicago & Northwestern Railway built a line north to Belvidere, making it easier for people to get to work in downtown Chicago. The Village of Belvidere was established around 1900 and annexed by the town of Belcher in 1916. In 1974, Belvidere became anindependent village under state law known as "the Town Act". Belvidere is home to two high schools: John Hargrave High School (grades 9-12) and Roosevelt High School (grades 10-12). There are also several elementary schools including North Park Elementary School (K-5), Central Park Elementary School (6-8), South Park Elementary School (9-11), West Side Intermediate School (12-14), Pleasant Prairie Middle School (15+) and three private schools: Heritage Preparatory Academy (K-8), Mount Carmel Academy Prepatory Schools for Boys/Girls (9-12) and Holy Angels Catholic school for Pre K through 8th grade (. These schools are not affiliated with any other educational institution). There also is one daycare center: Bellefontaine Day Care which serves prekindergarten through eighth grade students from Bellefontaine Township in neighboring Kane County. It should be noted that while all of these institutions offer educationally stimulating programs, they lack vocational or technical training capabilities which would allow them to provide jobs for local residents after graduation or after completing their adult years; however this problem has been gradually improving over time as more businesses have moved into the area with some starting up efforts to provide such training opportunities at their respective institutions
