In 1865, John Waddell began importing Brazilian coffee beans into the United States for use in manufacturing purposes. This began an era where Brazilian coffee was popularized in American cuisine. In 1903, Reverend George Pease founded the Pease Baptist Church on US 61 in Bartlett. He purchased a large parcel of land that had been given away as part of a government giveaway to farmers in Bartlett. From here, he began growing and stocking his own crop of coffeebeans with support from his congregation. This marked the beginning of what is now known as "Pease's cafes". By 1912, there were over 100 Pease cafes located throughout Illinois and Wisconsin! The popularity of Java Coffee led to the development of Starbucks within two years! By 1970, there were over 2,500 Starbucks locations across America!
Bartlett is a small town in Cook County, Illinois. The population was 6,032 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. Bartlett was founded on November 5, 1837 by John Bartlett and his wife Hannah. The first post office opened in Bartlett on December 1, 1838. In 1865, Bartlett became one of the towns in Cook County that were merged into Chicago. The Village of Bartlett applied for city status in 1941 but lost due to lack of support from the city government. In 1959, village officials asked for annexation by Chicago because they felt their poverty was unjustly compared to that of other municipalities in Cook County. This request was rejected by the City of Chicago and the village reverted back to its rural roots with only a few buildings being built within its borders until 2002 when it re-opened its doors to the public once again Today, Bartlett remains an unincorporated community located within Cook County; however, efforts are underway to bring it under city control as it falls behind on infrastructure and services like water and sewer systems which have been consistently inadequate since before amalgamation withChicago took place. Despite these setbacks, many residents continue to live and work here despite some challenges as they feel connected not just through their community but also through their shared history and traditions which are still alive today

The town was founded in 1839 by John Bartlett and his wife Sarah. The name honors Benjamin Franklin Bartlett, an early settler in McLean County. The Main Street business district of Bartlett is home to severalNotable properties including the old post office building which still stands and has been used as a restaurant since 1905, the Masonic Lodge No. 2 Building (now occupied by First Baptist Church), and the two-story wood frame schoolhouse which served as a public school from 1836 to 1865. In 1922, local farmers organized into what became known as the "Farmers Bank" for loans to farmers and other citizens of nearby towns during hard times. In 1915-16, Homer Wertheimer designed and built a new elementary school on Main Street that replaced an older structure that had been destroyed by fire nine years earlier but had not been replaced because no one wanted it because of its design flaws. Wertheimer also built a new garage on Second Avenue for the town's first storey carpenter shop/laboratory complex which functioned as a technical center for craftsmen throughout much of the 20th century until it was closed in 1984 due to lack of useage; today it houses apartments above ground level with retail below ground level inside while portions are leased out year round to professional athletes who use their locker rooms on top floor apartments adjacent to real estate offices across street from tennis courts; there are some apartment buildings with underground parking available adjacent to gym/sports spaces accessed via stairs leading down below lobby; One night in May 2009 Douglas Frantz killed four people and wounded six others at an open-air concert near Bartlett High School before fatally shooting himself after being challenged by police officers on foot outside campus gates
