The first settler in what would become Alsip was George Fenton in 1836. A post office called Alsip was established in 1837, and remained in operation until 1886. During its time as a small town it had a school, churches (twoMethodist), an opera house (1875), two stores (1876-77), one hotel (1879-81), three blacksmith shops (1884-86), four sawmills (1902-07) and thirteen farmssteads/ranches/grazing areas totaling . In 1888 there were 2238 residents; by 1910 this had increased to 565. Today's downtown area is largely composed of Victorian architecture from Alsip's early years including brick buildings on Main Street between State and Washington Streets along with newer structures such as Northwestern Mutual Tower which fronts State Street. Some notable modern landmarks include FirstMerit Bank Headquarters building across State Street from Northwestern Mutual Tower just blocks away from Fulton Market District where many local restaurants are located; Tribune Tower on West Addison Avenue across from Park Ridge Cemetery off of North Union Avenue; KFC headquarters complex on West Side Highway between Northwest Division Street and Wabash Avenue just blocks away fromChicago’s Millennium Park - home to many world famous attractions such as Sears Tower and Buckingham Palace - both of which have been leased for uses other than retail or office space since 2007 when KFC announced they will be moving out of their original entire downtown Chicago location beginning in 2020. As part of suburbanization during later decades most businesses either closed down or moved out into larger facilities closer to jobsites while smaller families continued living near downtown making way for large apartment complexes development that continue up until this day with few if any storefront businesses remaining within walking distance today of some pre WWII neighborhoods like "the old section". Most recently new developments have occured directly adjacent to various transportation hubs like John Hancock Center Metra Station on Milwaukee Road just northeast of I-290 Exit 57A next door to Fordham University Hospital being home also(as well as additional hospitals)to several large mall anchor stores such as Macy's loft apartments complex now housing rationalall

This new trade led to increased wealth for both sides and soon France became one of the world’s leading coffee producers. In 1821,Java fell to British forces during the Napoleonic Wars and control over Indonesia passed from Dutch hands to Britain. With British rule came restrictions on how much caffeine could be produced or sold so Indonesian merchants turned to espresso instead. The popularity of espresso led to its spread throughout Europe and eventually North America too- making it one of the most popular drinks ever created!
