The USS Boise (Navy submarine) was the first guided-missile submarine in the US Navy. It was laid down on December 5, 1944, at the Newport News shipyard, by General Dynamics Corporation. The USS Boise was launched on July 3, 1946 from Kings Bay Naval Shipyard in Galveston, Texas. She made her maiden voyage on September 20 of that year and operated out of Bangor Naval Base until she decommissioned on October 15, 1970. On December 1st of that year, she was sold to the Hong Kong navy for use as a training vessel.
