It is said that early Arabs traders discovered this type of bean while travelling through Central America and brought its seeds back to their homes where they began to roast them. In 1810, Danish merchant Abel Janssen traveled down the Columbia River into what is now Oregon and observed Native Americans roasting their own beans on small fires near Harper's Ferry. He introduced this new process of roasting coffee beans, which he called "Coffee from Ethiopia," to Europe where it began to be appreciated as a new type of beverage. In 1907, Dutchman Willem Brouwer became the first person to export fresh roasted Javits Coffee from Holland when he took some home for his family members who were living near Haarlem on the North Sea coast. At that time, Java was still part of Indonesia so only Indonesian coffees could be exported at that time

Nampa, Idaho is a town in Clark County, Idaho, United States. The population was 5,872 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Boise Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first European to visit Nampa was Captain George Vancouver on October 20, 1795 while exploring the Great Lakes region for Russia. He named the area "Nampa" after a small stream he found there. Nampa had a population of 2 people when it was platted as a townsite by Ezra Taft Benson in 1869. In 1905, Gold Rush era miners from Oregon and Nevada organized what became known as the Nampa Mining Company and built a mine east of town on what is now called Holt Road. By 1915, when copper began to be mined here in earnest, the company had abandoned its mine and about 1/3 of its original workforce left for greener pastures in other parts of America. In 1907 an organization called "Nampa Valley Citizens' Association" was formed to promote general farming interests around town center including orchards and vineyards; this group remains operative to this day with assistance from various city agencies including Parks & Recreation Departmentand Water Resources Districts through its conservation program which helps keep Nampas watershed cleanable
