The history of coffee begins with the beans that are roasted in Meridian, Idaho. The first coffee trees were planted in this area around 1912 and the first espresso machines were built in 1922. Coffee was grown and sold here until the early 1970s when it was shifted to Indonesia.
Meridian, Idaho (ID) is located in the central US and is bordered by Canada to the northwest and east, Nevada to the northeast, and Wyoming to the south. The population was 1,994 as of 2010. The town was founded in 1881 by farmers led by James H. Bird. Meridian grew rapidly due to its location on a major wagon road connecting Seattle with California and other points west. In 1907, a dam was built near the town and irrigation water began flowing for the first time into Meridian in 1911. Today, Meridian is a small but thriving community that remains an important cultural center for rural western Idaho. The town features a mix of historic architecture from both before it became a settlement and during its early years including churches, schools, stores, hotels and other businesses dating back to 1881-1892 when it was known as Bird's Valley village. The most noticeable landmark in town today is the three-story tower called "The Gilded Cage" which served as both a courthouse and post office from 1907 until 1915 when it burned down. Today's economy revolves around agriculture with cattle ranching being one of the mainstay industries; however, there are also some smaller businesses throughout town such as Antiques Roadside Emporium which has been operating since 1927 selling items such as books orabilia from olden days along with occasional concerts or performances by local artists. One of Meridian's main attractions is its annual Christmas parade which takes place on December 6th each year beginning at 5pm PST/8pm EST through downtown streets followed by an openair event at Keystone Lake where candy canes are given away to entrants who must kayak out across the ice machine!

Meridian is a city in Idaho, United States. It was founded in 1898 by people who came from Canada. The city is the county seat of Meridian County. As of 2010, the population was 27,812. The name Meridian comes from the title of a General Douglas MacArthur's book about his experiences fighting in World War I and as a result of its location on the Snake River Plain, it became an important transportation hub for early settlers. The first permanent settler in Meridian was John Grant who arrived in 1887 and built the first house on what is now Main Street. In 1902, George Washington Sell shipped lumber to Boise from nearby North Bend and decided to settle there after hearing about good land and water resources available in Meridian. He named his new community after himself – George Washington Sell City – which it quickly became known as due to its proximity to Boise and other business communities around town. In 1907, when Boise renamed itself "Meridian", part of the reasoning was that "the river [would] continue to be called 'the great Snake' because so many people had come down it over these years." This naming decision helped solidify Fort Belknap County's status as a key player in early Idaho history; prior to that time it had been home solely to Wasatch County residents living along the Grand Teton Mountains or farther east within Laramie County. In 1912, when Boise merged with Ada County (now part of Nebraska), Meridian became part of that county as well and retains this designation today. Merridin, Idaho was founded in 1907 by J.C. Morse and John W. Hill as a small mining town on the banks of the Boise River. The town started out as a Mormon settlement, but soon became an agricultural center with barley, wheat, oats, potatoes and other crops being grown. In 1941, Meridian was renamed after George Washington's route from Mount Vernon to Cedar City via Boise City. The name change reflected the growing importance of the city in the area and its role as a transportation hub for the region.
