The Air Force supply chain has a rich history dating back to World War II. In 1947, the USAF created its own air component, the Eighth Air Force. The Eighties were a time of great expansion for the USAF and new procurement programs led to the acquisition of some of the most advanced technology in the world. This included jet aircraft and missiles, which would be essential for future conflicts. During this time, gifts from people all over America were sent to RAF Bentwaters in England as part of an effort to support British military operations in Europe. Gifts were also sent as thank-you's for contributions made during wartime by local citizens. One such gift was an air compressor used to fill up airplane tanks with gasoline before takeoff. Today, the USAF Supply Chain is one of its largest and most important components - responsible for supplying equipment and supplies needed by service members on active duty and worldwide missions. The Supply Chain functions within a 24/7 environment and takes into account bothUAL needbased allocations as well as global demand fluctuations that can impact availability at any given time. The plane is used today by the Air Force as a training and flying machine. Another gift from the military was the T-38 Talon jets, which were gifted to Meridian in 1984.
Meridian is a small town located in the Snake River Valley of Idaho. The population was 1,951 at the 2010 census. Meridian is one of the few towns in the valley without any ski resort within its boundaries. It is also one of the few towns in the valley without any college or university presence. The community was founded by Latter-day Saints in 1907 and has since been an important cultural center for their members and tourists alike. The first settlers to Meridian were William Addison and his family, who arrived from Nauvoo, Illinois, on February 15, 1907. At that time, there were only a few hundred people living in what is now Meridian. By 1910, however, it had become apparent that this small town would not be able to support itself alone as a local business district. Consequently, on October 13th of that year, Brigham Young called a meeting to establish a company town known as "Meridian". The original membership consisted of twelve men - six apostles and four high priests - plus two women: mother Emma Hale (later Pioneer Woman) and sister Jennie Calkins ( later Sister White). The name "Meridian" was chosen because it seemed to fit well with the surrounding hillsides which were covered with sagebrush and other shrubs suitable for grazing animals during winter months. After approval from Church leaders at a special priesthood conference on November 4th 1911, construction began on what would eventually become Meridian's first post office - located off State Highway 12 just east of present day downtown Meridian. In 1912 new streets were laid out throughout downtown Meridian including Merchant Street which ran north-south; Court Street which ran east-west; Liberty Avenue which paralleled State Highway 12 southbound; and Fruit Road which ran northwest-southeast. These streets are still in use today as part of downtown's layout. In 1914 construction began on what would eventually become Meridian's second post office - located off State Highway 12 just west of present day downtown Meridian again using donated land previously used by the First Portland Ward temple site project construction was completed in 1915 under license from Brigham Young himself! This building remains operational to this day as part of LDS Community Services' mail processing facility operated out of it since 1978! During World War I both civilian and military residents fought for their country either through Active Duty or National Serviceournaments took place throughout central Idaho such as those held at Payette Lake near Boise City where competitors from all over America shot rifles and shotguns while camping/fishing etc.; many talented young men entered into these competitions becoming future governors or congressmen etc... Local boys like John Wittell became engineers working for companies such as Boeing & McDonnell Douglas airplanes manufacturing plants.... All types people came through here doing good things but our most notable resident thru war times was my father Milton Sorenson he served 3 terms Mayor Of Boise City then left goin back home

Meridian is a small town in eastern Idaho, located on the Snake River. It is home to the Meridian School District and was founded by settlers in 1887. The community grew rapidly after the construction of the Boise-Cottonwood Railroad in 1912, and by 1920 it had over 1,000 residents. In 1927, Meridian became a city, and has since grown into one ofIdaho's most populous towns. The first people to live near Meridian were Paleo-Indians who hunted game in what is now the town. The first Europeans to arrive in what is now Meridian were fur traders from Canada who built a fort there in 1827. In 1847, representatives from Oregon decided to prospect for gold near present day Boise City. They named their new settlement Fort Hall after George Washington’s headquarters at Mount Vernon. However, no gold was found and the fort was abandoned shortly afterward. In 1907, a group of businessmen formed an agricultural cooperative called The Valley Company which platted land around what is now Meridian on the south bank of the Snake River. By 1915, this area had been extended northward by 50 acres and renamed Meridian Settlement after pioneer Isaac Merritt (1801-1851), president of The Valley Company. The boomtown atmosphere that developed around Interstate 90 made it difficult for many residents to get along; some began riots against resident merchants during 1919's Great Depression as they struggled to make ends meet amid falling prices for goods brought overroads across America caused by World War I rationing policies enforced by President Woodrow Wilson's administration). In 1922 when I-90 was completed between Boise City and Fort Hall Junction (the junction where I-90 enters Idaho), many people moved out of Meridian because of its close proximity to both cities with great economic opportunities available outside of town limits; however, some remain buried within downtown business districts today as part of their histories or architecture
