Eagle resident and coffee aficionado, Jeff Burt, started roasting beans in his garage in the early 1980s. The first batch of coffee beans that he roasted was a blend of two different types of beans, Ethiopian and Guatemalan. At the time, there were not many places in Eagle where you could buy caffeine-packed coffee. Burt's continued success led to him starting his own small business in 1992 called 'The Coffee House'. This business was successful enough that Burt decided to open a second store called 'The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf' within walking distance from his first store. In 2003, Burt opened another small business - this time it was an espresso shop - which became known as 'The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Espresso Shop'. Today, Jeff Burt continues to roast and sell quality coffee all over Idaho including at several local convenience stores as well as online. He is also the owner and operator of three cafes - one located in Boise, one located in Eagle and one located in Nampa - serving up delicious cupcakes with café-quality coffee every day!
