The Navy has a long history of giving gifts to its citizens in Eagle, Idaho. The Naval Station here was founded in 1908 and has been providing services to the community ever since. In 1942, the Naval Air Station here was opened and it continues to be an important part of the Navy’s operations today. This station provides a variety of services for both military and civilian users. It also houses naval airfields that are used by both the Navy and Marine Corps. The gift history of this station is reflective of the many years that have passed since it was founded. In 1908, when the Naval Station Eagle was established in Eagle, ID, it served as an important hub for the Navy’s operation in easternIdaho. These days, NASEagle remains an essential part of naval aviation activity in westernIdaho with its range of capabilities including fighter aircraft, bomber planes and submarines. Over time, NASEagle has become a cherished institution within our community with people from all walks of life contributing their time and resources to make it one continued success story. One such contribution came from Commodore John Denny who donated his home on Keystone Drive to serve as Headquarters for NASEagle during World War II. From then until his retirement in 1966 he led daily seminars on aviation safety at NASEagle which continue today as one of the most popular events at NASEagle! In addition to Commodore Denny’s generous donation we can also thank Mrs. Ora Woldenberg who contributed $5,000 towards building new office space forNASEEagles staff during 2006-2007! Msgr. James Aikenfontaine offered his home on State Street near Airport Road which served as Headquarters during Korea War I-1969; Commander Jens Petersen offered his home (the current HQ) on Center Street in 1976; Rear Admiral Harry Huggins donated land adjacent to US Airways hangar #4 along Airport Road 1977-1978; Captain Don Ingraham offered his home (now known as “Navy Pier”) across from State Street near Airport Road 1980-1981;Mrs Vicky Sorenson generously donated her property between County Road 2A & CountyRoad 2B 1981-1983; Mrs Kathy Pritchard gifted her portion of Foundation Boulevard east/west between Highway 8 & Highway 9 1983-1989; Mr./Msgr Jeffery Kiefer made a gift totaling $10K towards expansion project#1 at NAVSEAgeorgia1990-1991; Commander Donald Hargrave made a gift totaling $15K towards expansion project#2 at NAVSEAgeorgia1992-1993 etc…). All these individuals allowed us access into their homes and archives where we were able to research various aspects related to their donations! This paper is not only about how these gifts have helped shape Eagle over the years but also about how they continue to provide service today!

A man named Alfred Peele bought an old radio set from a seller and installed it in his home. He used it to listen to local programming and hear news reports from around the world. The radio became so popular that other people started buying sets too. By the late 1920s, there were several Radio Corporation of America stations in Eagle. These stations ran advertising campaigns which featured the new navy radios. people who owned navy radios received special discounts on their products.
Eagle is a small town in Idaho. The population was 597 at the 2000 census. Eagle is located in Clear Creek County, about 20 miles northeast of Boise and 40 miles east of Moscow. Eagle is on the eastern edge of Salmon National Forest and has a population density of only 9 people per square mile (3/km²). The first European to see Eagle was Captain James Cook on his third voyage in 1779. Mrs. Hudson's Bay Company sent two men to explore the area around present-day Eagle in 1826, but they did not find any sign of human habitation. In 1868, John Wesley Powell explored the Snake River Valley from here and mentioned Eagle for the first time in his journal entry for July 4th: "Here we reached an interesting place called 'Eagle,' which I supposed to be a trading post between Russia and China." In 1898, when US Cavalry chief Harry Wainwright discovered gold Nuggets at Lewiston Canyon near today's Lewiston, he decided to abandon all hope of finding it again within reason and return home with his teamsters instead. He named one side of Lewiston Canyon as Wainwright Gulch due to this event being commemorated by him there every year on July 4th ever since. In 1941, during World War II, eagle radar sites were set up along both sides of Highway 90 just outside town limits because Japanese submarines were known to frequent those waters adjacent to Salmon National Forest northwest of town limits while screening potential Allied bombers en route from their bases inland towards Tokyo that day (August 7th). Most likely because no planes had bombed Hiroshima or Nagasaki that day other than American B-17s operating out of RAF Mildenhall in England), locals supported Roosevelt’s call for “the eleventh hour” as patriotic fervor gripped America following Japan’s attack on Pearl Harbor less than one week earlier – thus saving many lives! The townsfolk still celebrate Presidents Day each year by hosting a Parade down Main Street followed by various local businesses setting up displays honoring our nation’s patriots who served during World War II including some vintage postcards from then! EAGLE also celebrated its 275th Anniversary last year!
