This change led to increased cooperation between AFIA and other intelligence organizations which helped prevent World War III from happening as planned. It should also be noted that not all recipients were active duty officers at when they received their gifts; for example, Vice Admiral David Welchreceived his award for distinguished service while he concurrently held commands at Commodore John L Stroud's Destroyer Squadron 12 and Rear Admiral David Wohl's Attack Squadron 52 during Desert Storm I . Eagle is a town in Idaho, United States. The population was 3,895 at the 2010 census. Eagle is located in the southeast corner of the state and is bordered by the Kootenai National Forest to the north, and Payette County to the east and south. The town was founded on July 20, 1884, when a party of men led by George Shaffer set out from Lander for what they thought would be an extended hike up Bear Butte. They never reached their destination; instead they camped overnight near present-day Eagle on Mount McKinley before continuing the next day. The name of their new settlement likely derives from one or more nearby peaks: Eagle Peak (2,815 ft.), Bear Butte (3,095 ft.), and Mountain View (3,050 ft.). In 1888 Eagle had a post office with two clerks. In 1892 it became an incorporated village under authority of Payette County. It had a population of 1,500 in 1904 but declined to 350 in 1910 due to high levels of contagious Smallpox that year. That same year it lost its post office status when it merged with neighboring Hubbaqua into Hubbaqua Post Office #1. Eagle has seen some dramatic changes over its history: In 1924 it developed what are now known as "barnraising" areas which were used for raising horses for local farmers; in 1951 it became home to another small post office; and most recently it has seen growth as an agricultural center with production including haymaking, dairy products, applesauce, potatoes etc.. The first mention of Eagle can be found in Spanish records dating back to 1776 when Pico de los Rios named a peak after his friend Eusebio del Valle y Sotomayor who visited that area during his travels through North America between 1775-1779 AD.
