Truman who served in both houses of Congress from 1945-1953 and again from 1961-1969. During his time as mayor, Truman helped to make Chubbuck one of America's leading cities and played an important role in building Boise as one of the leading metropolitan areas in North America. He is also home to Boise State University which was founded in 1907 as a women's college and now ranks amongAmerica's top universities with more than 100 undergraduate programs/departments. Another significant figure duringChubbuck's early years was Dr.[?] Jameson M[?], Founder and Director of American Red Cross Blood Service at World War I Cantonment Hospital on Base Camp Creek where many lives were saved during that critical conflict. From 1941 until his retirement in 1984 he directed Red Cross blood drives throughout central Idaho every other day providing safe health care for thousands of people including many members of our Armed Forces who were fighting abroad during World War II. He remains an honored member of our community today and special thanks go out to him for his contributions!

Lillie was the daughter of an old resident of Chubbuck and she helped run the store and house until her death in 1928. George Chubbuck died in 1956.

However, by the early 2000s the town's economy had begun to decline as industry began to leave for more competitive locations around the country. By 2010 Chubbucks population was only 5300 residents remaining largely retiree lifestyle with few new businesses beginning up in recent decades.
