Winder, Georgia is a small town in the state of Georgia. It is located in the counties of Cobb and Fulton. The population was 1,812 at the 2010 census. Winder is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. The community was founded on January 30, 1892 by James Winker and his wife Jane Winker. The name "Winder" comes from a bend in the creek that ran through the village. James Winker had been born in Pennsylvania and came to Georgia with his parents when he was five years old. He worked as an overseer on a farm until he started business in 1881 as a wagonmaker and gristmill operator near Athens. In 1892, he built a sawmill on Creek Road south of town and named it Winder after his home state of Pennsylvania. James Winker died in 1990 and Jane Winker passed away in 2002. Today, Winder's primary industry is tourism; however, there are also some businesses involved with manufacturing such as fabricated metal products and agricultural products. In 1824, Gabriel Garcia Marquez wrote about Spanish missionaries finding beans growing wild near San Francisco – this was soon followed by other European explorers and colonists who discovered similar bean fields across North America. By 1830, small farmers had begun to grow coffee on small estates in what is now southern California. The first major commercial crop was grown in this area by a group of Spaniards led by José de Urquiza y Gasset in 1846. Mexican entrepreneur Antonio Larrea also played a significant role in this early period, supplying both beans and water to various farms throughout California. The late 1800s were a time of great change for coffee cultivation and consumption around the world. Coffee became an important export commodity for many countries, with different methods being developed to produce more efficient beans. One such process used sulfur dioxide gasification to roast these Beans at high temperatures before packaging them for shipment abroad. This resulted in poorer quality beans which were often considered unpalatable due their bitterness and sourness. However, over time, different processes have been developed which result in better-tasting artisan coffees. In 1951, Mrinal Bose set up his own roastery within walking distance of Mumbai’s main railway station after noticing a lack of good-quality Indian-made coffee available elsewhere on the continent. He started producing 100% Arabica beans under his own name – making him one of the first truly international coffee producers

Winder, Georgia is a small town in the central part of the state of Georgia. The population was 1,914 at the 2010 census. Winder is located on the Kannapolis River and has a reputation as being one of the most Tornado-prone areas in Georgia. The town was founded by John Winder in 1837. It is named after him and his brother Benjamin Winder. In 1871, it became a county seat and has remained that way ever since. Winder is known for its historical sites such as the Old Court House which was built in 1837 and houses a museum about local history, and also contains replicas of some of Georgia's early Governors' residences. There are also several businesses in town including an antique store, gas station, restaurant, post office, dance hall and two schools - one high school (grades 9-12) and one middle school (grades 7-8).
Winder was founded in 1785 by John Winder and his wife, Sarah. The town was named for the windmill located nearby. In 1805, Winder became a part of Augusta County. In 1814, it was renamed from Winder to Augusta. In 1833, Augusta County merged with Fulton County to form Georgia County. On July 1, 1865, Hancock County was created from parts of Georgia and Augusta Counties. On December 6, 1905, the name of the county changed again to McIntosh County in honor of General Nathan McIntosh who fought in the American Civil War.
