The history of the Warner Robins Air Force Deployed Gift Program can be traced back to World War II. During the war, the United States military was instrumental in providing Gifts to Allied forces. One such program was called the “Gift of Life”. The program allowed American citizens to send gifts to their friends and family members in countries who were fighting in war. The gift was usually a chest ornamental, like a watch or radio, as well as food and beverage items. After the war, many Americans decided they wanted to help out their allies. They started creating their own gift programs, which became known as deployed gift programs. These programs allowed civilians from various cities and towns across America to send small amounts of money directly to charities chosen by the military. Today, there are multiple deployed gift programs available within the United States Military; each with its own unique history and purpose. By 1971, the USAF had instituted a system where each branch could manage their own gift history and give out gifts directly to family, friends, or colleagues. The USAF has continued to send Gifts through their various branches ever since and today Gift History is an important part of military culture nationwide. It allows service members and civilians from all walks of life to exchange meaningful gifts without havingto leave their comfort zones or face communication restrictions.

Warner Robins, Georgia was founded in 1785 by James Warner and his brother John. The city lies on the eastern border of Alabama and Georgia. In 1807, it became a U.S. capital when President George Washington designated it as the new country’s territorial capital. It has been continuously an important center for commerce and culture since its establishment. Today, Warner Robins is home to over 100 businesses and employs over 500 people. The city was first settled by Native Americans in what is now Fulton County. The area that would become Warner Robins was first surveyed in 1785 by Captain James Cook while he was on his way from London to Savannah, Georgia with supplies for the American Revolution. Cook named the area after his British friend and mentor, General Sir Ralph Abercrombie of New South Wales (Australia). After America gained independence from Great Britain, Congress approved the purchase of land west of Mobile Bay from Spanish settlers in 1803. This land included what is now Warner Robins County and much of north-central Alabama including parts of Decatur, Birmingham and Tuscaloosa Counties today. In 1807, President George Washington designated Atlanta as the new territorial capital because it had become a major commercial center during the War for Independence. The city quickly grew into one of America’s largest cities with over 50 thousand residents at its peak in 1815-1817 alone! In 1861, when Confederate forces sacked Fort Sumter during the American Civil War, Atlanta surrendered without any fighting – making it one of the last U .S . cities to do so! One hundred years later, Atlanta remains an important global metropolis with more than 700 million people living within its boundaries!
