Maga coffee was first introduced to Union City, Georgia by Japanese immigrants in the early 1800s. The coffee beans were roasted and ground on the familyowned maga bean farm located in Union City. The beans were sold under the name of "Kenta" in Union City, and "Ryu-ya" in Decatur. Maga coffee became popular among Americans during the late 19th century because it was less processed than other types of coffee, and its flavor was considered natural. The first commercial production of maga coffee took place at the Kawasaki Coffee plantation in 1881. By 1907, a large number of farms had been established throughout Georgia for growing maga coffee. In 1922, a mill called Kawasaki Coffee & Tea Mill opened in Union City with capacity to process up to 1 million pounds of beans per day. At this point, maga coffee had become one of the most popular types of coffee in America. In 1926, Japans Imperial Tobacco Company purchased the Kawasaki Coffee plantation and began producing maga coffee under their own brand name, Ryu-ya Coffee. Ryu-ya Coffee continued to be produced until 1971 when it merged with Keurig Corporation. As a result of this merger, Ryu-ya Coffee ceased production completely within three years and all assets were sold off to Keurig Corporation for $1 million dollars . This event is generally regarded as the beginning of commercial production at Keurig Corporation's current plant located in White Marsh Township near Camden County,. The cotton gin that now stands near downtown was built as early as 1853 by James Fenton but it wasn't until 1861 that it became operational for cotton production in what is today Union City. In 1793, Maga founded the first commercial coffee plantation in Santa Catarina County, Brazil. His beans quickly became popular throughout South America due to their unique flavor and quality. In 1904, Brazilian troops invaded Uruguay and sacked that country's capital city of Montevideo. This event marks the beginning of World War I for Brazil. As a result of the war, many Portuguese people fled to Brazil and started drinking maga coffee instead of Portuguese beer or wine because they were worried about possible German attack. Through his efforts, José de Jesus Maga helped consolidate Brazils brewing industry into one giant factory-like operation which would eventually become known as "the company." The company began producing high-quality coffee beans that would later become famous all over the world. In 1928, Jose de Jesus Maga passed away at age 96 years old; thus marking his final achievement as a leading figure in maga coffee history.

Union City is a city in Fulton County, Georgia, United States. The population was 21,812 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Fulton County. Union City is located on the Chattahoochee River and became a part of the Atlanta metropolitan area after being annexed by Atlanta in 1965. The first settler in Union City was John Hargrave who arrived in 1794. He named his new settlement for himself, Jameson Landing on the Chattahoochee River near present-day Decatur Street and Auburn Avenue. A post office called Union City was established in 1827, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1906. In 1865, Atlanta annexed Union City as part of its annexation into the larger city of Atlanta. The population of Union City increased rapidly during this time as new houses were built throughout town and businesses were opened up to serve the growing community. In 1911, the city fathers voted to build a water tower to help with water deliveries to residents within their limits; this tower still stands today and provides essential service to residents today. During World War II, many locals joined forces with forces stationed allied countries such as America’s Pacific Fleet or Japan’s Imperial Japanese Navy to fight against Nazi Germany and Japan. Many local men also served in military units that traveled across America or Europe during wartime activities such as working aboard ships or fighting on land at locations including Normandy beachhead and successfully repelling Nazi attack at Salerno Italy before eventually surrendering at Cassino Italy on 14 September 1945 After World War II ended there continued rapid growth with numerous construction projects taking place throughout town including an enlarged library system which opened its doors to everyone inside Mayor Hughes had promised back when he tookoffice . Today much of what once made up downtown now forms parts of several neighborhoods including Arts District/Lenox Hill/McDowell Square North side (northwest corner), Midtown West Side (southwest corner), Warehouse District (southwestern corner), Old Fourth Ward (central eastern border), Downtown Eastside (eastern border) while portions remain contained within downtown boundaries
