The Stockbridge Coffee Company was founded in 1892 by grocery store owners George and Sarah Stockbridge. The company began selling coffee beans from a small roasting house on the edge of town. In 1898, the company moved its operations to a larger facility on Depot Street. By 1912, the company had grown sufficiently to become its own independent business. In 1915, the Stockbridge Coffee Company became one of the first businesses in Georgia to sell ground coffee by weight. The company continued to grow throughout World War II and into the postwar period, becoming one of Georgia's leading coffee companies. In 1990, the Stockbridge Coffee Company merged with another local coffee chain, The Peet's Coffee & Tea Co., forming what is now known as Peet's Cobbler Incorporated.
Stockbridge is a small town in Fulton County, Georgia, United States. The population was 1,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. The first Europeans to arrive in what is now Stockbridge were two brothers named John and George Washington who came in 1785 from Rhode Island. They built a sawmill on the Chattahoochee River and started trading with the Cherokee Indians. In 1801 they sold their business to General James Wilkinson for $2,000. The Town of Stockbridge was founded on November 3, 1802 by General Wilkinson and his family as a place where he could graze his horses and build himself a house. He named it after one of his agricultural properties near Augusta, Georgia. The first post office was established at Stockbridge on December 2, 1802 by Jno Witherspoon (1768-1835). GEOF WILLIAMS (1811-1892), an early settler here, served as postmaster until 1830 when he moved to nearby Duluth because mail service was available only between Athens and Savannah then via boat across the river. The first store was built around this time by Andrew Pickering (1786-1864) who also operated a sawmill; later stores were built by other residents including Nicholas Cook (1812-1882) who traded goods with Indian nations along the Chattahoochee River; Solomon Butts (born about 1800); Elijah Sprague (baptized about 1804); and Elisha Morse (died 1840). In 1839 General Nathan Bedford Forrest campaign against Ulysses S Grant included an attack on Stockbridge which resulted in three dead and six wounded under cover of darkness while farmers were away harvesting their crops; this event helped make Forrest nationally known due to public outrage over frontier warfare Tactics such as these caused many new settlers to flee eastern states during the 19th century Panic of 1837 which led to mass emigration westward which created many towns like Stockbridge in south central Georgia A second Post Office opened at Stockbridge on September 16, 1861 under responsibility of general David Hunter Johnson who had been ordered by President Abraham Lincoln not to demolish any old buildings that might impede military operations duringthe American Civil War A school began operation date unknown but must have been before 1870 because there are references to schools being established here beginning in that year There are no records or deeds having been found dating back prior to this so likely it would be impossible or undocumented

As more businesses got involved in this trend, it quickly spread throughout the world due to its deliciousness and high quality standards. The popularity of artisan coffee has only grown since then! The first coffee was grown in the region of Tuscany, Italy in the late 15th century. The beans were roasted by peasants who used small fires to roast the beans. In 1619, Giovanni de' Rossi, a nobleman from Florence, opened his own coffee house and began to sell coffee grounds and coffee beans. In 1795, Angelo Bormida founded Bormida Coffee Company in Rome with support from Emperor Francis I. After several years of business growth, Bormida's company began importing Arabica beans from Africa and roasting them at their own factory. In 1812, Luigi Ferrando established Ferrando Coffee House in Rome with support from Pope Leo XII. Ferrando became world-known for his high quality coffee products and is considered one of the first commercial coffee brewers.
Stockbridge is a town in Cobb County, Georgia, United States. The population was 1,856 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. Stockbridge was founded by James Fenton in 1836 and named for him. The first white settlers in what is now Cobb County were Jesse Watkins and his family, who arrived around 1800 from Maryland. They platted a small community called Watkinsville on the Chattahoochee River east of present-day Stockbridge. In 1828, Jethro Gibbs planted some rice fields near present-day Lithonia and named them Stockbridge after his birthplace in England (now Liverpool). In 1836, James Fenton moved to what is now Cobb County with his family and built a log cabin on the east bank of the Chattahoochee River. He named it "Fenton's Mill" after himself and other pioneers who had also settled there early in this century. Fenton operated a gristmill here until about 1840 when he replaced it with an improved mill which still stands today. The town of Stockbridge grew rapidly during the antebellum period because of its location convenient to transportation via wagon roadsides before they were developed into modern highways. By 1860, there were more than 100 residents living in what is now downtown Stockbridge; by 1880, that number had grown to over 300 people! During World War II, many local businesses—including munitions plants—were set up to produce materials needed for war production such as gasoline, aviation fuel and munitions; however, few residents actually live within these complexes today because they have been replaced by larger structures or are no longer used productively due to technological advances or changes in warfare strategy! However, one significant aspect of postwar life for locals was the return of black Americans displaced during Reconstruction following the American Civil War; many began returning home after being ordered out by then President Ulysses S Grant as part of his policy known as " reconstruction ". This influx led directly to increased business activity for local businesses since former slaves could purchase land and build homes without any assistance from white society!
