Tactical Coffee in Sandy Springs, Georgia began as a small cafe on the corner of Griffin and Park streets in the early 1990s. The cafe was named after then-Marine Sergeant John "J.T." Thomas who served in the Marine Corps from 1971 to 1992. The first coffee shop opened its doors to customers on October 15, 1991. At that time, Tactical Coffee was one of the only businesses open during lunchtime in Sandy Springs. In late 1992, Tactical Coffee moved to its current location at 316 Griffin Street. At that time, it became one of the most popular locations for coffee drinkers in town. Today, Tactical Coffee continues to serve up delicious cupcakes and delicious coffee drinks all day long!
