Since the national guard was established in 1792, Richmond Hill, Georgia has been a proud and important community that supports its military members. The history of the national guard gift to Richmond Hill starts with two donations from Commodore John Marshall in 1801. Commodore Marshall donated 10 cannon balls and 4 rifles to be used by the Georgia militia to help protect their state during the War of 1812. The cannons and rifles were later donated to the Richmond Hill National Guard Museum in 1971. Since then, local businesses have contributed items such as uniforms, vehicles, insignia, and more to support our military members. In 2006, we became one of only six communities in the United States that received an Army Reserve command sergeant major’s medal for excellence in community service. This recognition is given annually to a community who demonstrates exceptional dedication and volunteerism towards their military unit or organization. In addition to our community support for our military members, we also appreciate all of the contributions made by individuals who have chosen to become citizens of Richmond Hill through patriotism and service. These individuals have shared their time and resources so that everyone can enjoy a quality life without fear of conflict or foreign involvement. From World War II veterans who gave back their time after discharge from duty or donating equipment or munitions for use at home defense against potential enemies, to current citizens who are willing to donate time or money towards projects benefiting our Armed Forces personnel, there is no limit on what these people can do when it comes down to helping others connect with their country’s armed forces!

The Richmond Hill National Guard has been in existence since 1917. It was organized as a regiment of the Georgia National guard and raised by Captain James Livingston on October 22, 1917. The unit was mobilized on November 8th, 1917 and immediately put to work World War I. After the war, the unit was disbanded but re-raised in 1924 as a battalion of the Georgia national guard. In 1946, it became an infantry battalion and served until 1979 when it merged with the neighboring reserve regiment to form the present Richmond Hill National Guard Regiment.
Richmond Hill is a small town in metro Atlanta, Georgia. It was founded in 1837 by Confederate General Robert E. Lee and his wife, Mary Todd Lincoln. Richmond Hill is located near the intersection of I-285 and I- 75. According to the 2010 census, the population of Richmond Hill was 8,711. The name "Richmond" originated from Englishman Drayton Manor which was once part of the estate of James Kenedy Sr., brother of Georgian-born slave trader John Kenedy. The manor house still stands today and is open to visitors for tours on special occasions. The town was platted in 1837 by General Robert E. Lee and his wife Mary Todd Lincoln after they purchased a parcel of land from Jno Crain, who had built a plantation nearby some years earlier on what is now known as Park Avenue north of Interstate 285/75 (the latter being renamed Snell Parkway in 1961). At that time, it was one of several small settlements around Macon County that were developed during the early 19th century as cotton plantations grew larger and more expensive to operate than traditional rice or sugar plantations; this trend continued until white men left Macon County for better opportunities in Alabama during the Civil War (see History of Macon County). According to local legend, when Confederate General Robert E. Lee came to live in Richmond Hill after his surrender at Appomattox Court House on April 9 1865, he found many people living below poverty lines due to low crop prices caused by lack of available food supplies brought over by Union forces marching into Georgia from North Carolina preceding the war's end. The general ordered all residents within easy walking distance – including children –to gather up any food they could find and bring it inside where he would cook it into submission; this Feeding Frenzy campaign effectively ended Lowndes Parish's hunger crisis following hostilities concluded five days later on April 13 1865. In fact, Richmondhill remains one of only two towns located within Georgia with evidence remaining from both World Wars - both homes were razed during construction projects associated with post-war reconstruction efforts (euphemistically called Redevelopment Act legislation). In addition to its historically rich heritage, RichmondHill also has thriving local economy extending beyond agriculture; since 2000 through its own Chamberof Commerce marketing program dubbed "Fresh Start", businesses have been able to tap into locally sourced goods while promoting entrepreneurialism through education programs featuring local business owners engaging students in entrepreneur development workshops throughout school year
The National Guard has been in existence since 1795. The original National Guard was a militia composed of men from the states that formed the United States of America. In 1824, the first national guard regiment was organized and patrolled the borders of Ohio. In 1861, when Texas seceded from Mexico, there was an increased need for military manpower to help protect our southern neighbor. The Texas National Guard was called into service and served until 1865. Citizens in each state were allowed to enlist in their own militias if they could provide $250 per year for training and equipment. For many years, these militias acted as a backup force for the regular army should something go wrong with the regulars. However, starting in 1917, Congress passed legislation allowing citizens of federalized states (like New York) to become full-time soldiers in the Army or Navy without having to serve out their entire term. This is known as “National Guard Service” and allows people who are not actively working on their farms or businesses to serve in defense mode while still being able to keep their job and live comfortably within their state boundaries. Today, you can find both active duty members of the National Guard as well as reserve members who have taken up arms only when needed but not typically more than 24 hours away from home (unless ordered by congress). There are over 350 different units activated worldwide including unit deployments during Operation Neptune’s Spear which occurred after 9/11th terrorist Attacks on New York City; deployment near Baghdad during Operation Iraqi Freedom; deployment along US-Mexican border during Standoff at Juarez; deployment Hurricane Katrina response effort; large scale mobilization for D-Day Invasion Normandy Beachhead; support of domestic security operations such as Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Gang Enforcement Unit (GEU), Border Patrol Agents (BPA), Homeland Security Investigations investigations; search & rescue efforts following natural disasters such as Hurricane Irene etc.; Global War on Terrorism peacekeeping mission – Afghanistan There has never been an event where all members of a unit have had to come together just because somebody got an injury or ran out of ammo. Even though there is some danger involved with participating in any kind of national guard activity it usually comes down to two things: your oath sworn before God and your patriotism towards our country When you join a unit it means becoming one with other patriots across this great nation You will be given new gear so that you can better suit your individual needs Your unit is usually made up mostly young men between 18 - 25 years old who want nothing more than To Serve And Protect The Constitution Of Our Great Nation

Richmond Hill is a small town in Fulton County, Georgia, United States. The population was 1,869 as of the 2010 census. It is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. Richmond Hill is located on the main road from Atlanta to Macon and on the border of two counties-Fulton and Cobb. The first people to live in what is now Richmond Hill were Cherokee who moved west in 1802 from their original home near present day Chattanooga, Tennessee. They built a small village around an old trading post known as Fort Troup which they called "Cherokee Village". In 1815, General Andrew Jackson's army invaded Georgia and destroyed Cherokee Village without firing a shot. The Cherokees rebuilt their village around 1820 and named it "Richmond Hill". In 1881, when Fulton County was formed from parts of Cobb County, Richmond Hill became one of its constituent towns. As a result, it has had continuity with its Georgian culture for over 125 years. In 1912, Richmond Hill was chosen as site for the new county courthouse which remains its centerpiece today. Today, Richmond Hills enjoys continued success due to its rich history and proximity to both Atlanta and Macon – two of the most vibrant cities in America. Its schools are strong performing districts that have attracted top talent since 1978 when they opened their doors to students from all over central Georgia – including rural areas just outside town limits. Withdrawing students or consolidating schools doesn’t seem like an option anymore because there isn’t enough space within our tight-knit community for everyone!

The town grew rapidly and by 1800 it had a population of over 1,000 people. In 1813, Richmond Hill was incorporated as a city with a population of 5,000 people. The city experienced rapid growth and development during the 19th century. It became one of the most important cities in Georgia. Richmond Hill was destroyed by fire in 1864 and again by fire in 1868.
