Richmond Hill, Georgia is a small town located in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. The population was 2,500 as of the 2010 census. It is part of the Augusta, GA metropolitan area. The name “Richmond Hill” comes from two Revolutionary War General Nathanael Greene and his wife Esther Randolph who settled here in 1785. Richmond Hill became a manufacturing center during the late 1800s with cotton production increasing but slowly after that until it peaked in 1925 with over 100 factories employing 25,000 people. However, since World War II has been struggling economically with few new businesses starting up and most jobs moving away to elsewhere in Georgia or outside of America. The coffee industry began to take off in Richmond Hill around 1945 when a group of local businessmen started marketing and distributing Colombian coffee beans from their home country. At first they only sold through word-of-mouth but soon found success selling online throughailing services such as E-bay and Amazon. In 1951 they opened their own roaster which would become one of the leading coffee companies in America for many years to come. Starting out small they grew into what is now one of the largest coffee companies in the world with assets totaling $2 billion as of 2018 according to Forbes magazine One reason why Richmond Hill has had difficulty adapting to changes in its economy over time is because it depends largely on agricultural production which has shifted more towards soybean farming due to global demand for soybeans for feeds and vehicles etc. Asctora Coffee Company (AOC) was founded by an entrepreneur named Bruce Lee who bought an old plantation near Richmond Hill for £425 per acre back in 1978 In 2001 AOC merged with Starbucks Corporation creating what is now known as Starbucks Coffee Incorporated (SBUX). Richmond Hill, GA is a city in Fulton County, Georgia. The population was 10,811 at the 2010 census. It was founded in 1837 by General James A. Robertson and is named after Richmond Hill in London, England.
Richmond Hill is an unincorporated community in DeKalb County, Georgia, United States. It lies along the bank of the Chattahoochee River. The Richmond Hill post office was established in 1892, and has been in operation since then. Richmond Hill is one of several small communities located on or near the banks of the Chattahoochee River that are targets for development by developers who hope to create new neighborhoods with large homes and plenty of amenities. One such developer, Jack Welch, purchased approximately 1,000 acres (500 hectares) near Richmond Hill in 2003 for $9 million and started construction on a new shopping mall and other residential projects. The community's history dates back to 1892 when Rev. John Hodge founded Richmond Hill Baptist Church. Hodge had traveled throughout Georgia looking for a place to build a church after his own group of Baptists foundered out during the American Civil War. He settled on land north of what is now Petersburg and began planning the town he called "Rhodes". After some disagreements with local landowners about boundaries they decided to move their meeting place from Rhodes to what is now Richmond Hill so that everyone would have somewhere to go when things got tough. In 1913 Bertram Jarrell became head teacher at Carrollton School before moving to Atlanta in 1916 and becoming principal at Morehouse School there in 1917 before being named superintendent of schools for Gwinnett County in 1919 where he stayed until his death in 1941. In 1925 Driscoll Withers became pastor at Richmond Hill Baptist Church before becoming assistant pastor at First Presbyterian Church across the river in Duluth Heights before coming back home permanently to serve as pastor there from 1951 until his death in 1984. In 1954 Milton Bradley opened a grocery store near Ritchie Highway which soon grew into one of Atlanta's most successful businesses and eventually led to development along Ritchie Highway including a major hospital complex known as Grady Memorial Hospital which was built adjacent to Bradley's grocery store while he was still alive but never operated because it was bought by AIG Corp., later part of Citigroup Inc., after his death and renamed Grady Health Center following its sale by Grady Memorial Hospital LLC.. In 1976 Philips-Shaw Electric Light Company opened its first plant outside Atlanta within easy walking distance of Grady Health Center making it possible for people working downtown without having too much trouble getting around Symphony Hall or Lenox Square

Richmond Hill, Georgia is a small town located in McDowell County, Georgia. The population was 1,890 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chattanooga metropolitan area. Richmond Hill was founded in 1811 as a small community on the banks of the Chattahoochee River by Scots-Irish immigrants who had settled in what is now Chattanooga. By 1830, Richmond Hill had become an isolated frontier post and its residents were self-sufficient farmers and craftsmen. However, due to increasing tension between Alabama and Georgia over slavery, violence broke out in 1837 and McIntosh's Expedition destroyed most of Richmond Hill before finally surrendering it to Montgomery on July 10th that year. The post remained abandoned for years until it was reactivated by General John Ewell during the Reconstruction era as a training center for Confederate soldiers re-enlisting after the Civil War. In 1892, newly organized McDowell County completed construction of Jackson Street Bridge which connected Richmond Hill with neighboring towns such as Milledgeville and Macon. This bridge linked both halves of McDowell County for the first time since 1796 when English settlers first reached this area. As more people arrived in McDowell County during the late 19th century and early 20th century, Richmond Hill began to experience rapid growth as a result of new industrial development along Jackson Street Bridge. In 1925, Richmond Hill became one of three incorporated communities in McDowell County;the others being Milledgeville and Macon (the other two being Perrysburg). Although many aspects of life in rural areas changed following World War II when industry shifted from agriculture to heavy manufacturing, there has never been significant change at or around Richmond Hill which retains its traditional values such as self-reliance and isolationism despite constant contact with larger cities throughout its history.
