Pooler, Georgia is a small town in south-central Georgia. It has a population of about 1,000 people and is the seat of Pooler County. The town was founded in 1847 by families from east Tennessee. The first store in Pooler was built on Main Street. In 1865, the first post office was established in Pooler. By 1870, the population had increased to 2,500 people. In 1885, the first telephone system was installed in Pooler. In 1912, the first electric power system was established in pooler. The town became a city in 1951.In 2006, Pooler began to make headlines for its high quality coffee beans and roasts. Coffee beans are produced at two of the local mills - Humble & Sons Coffee Company and Central Texas Coffee Company - and are roasted here on site or flown into Atlanta for processing into cups that are sold throughout Georgia and beyond

But as time passed, more and more experienced brewers became interested in developing better techniques for brewing perfect-tasting coffee. In recent years, other types of filters have also been developed to improve the brewing process, such as French press filters which allow milk to steep longer before it reaches the coffee grounds, or Aeropress filters which are designed to produce a smoother cup of coffee with less bitterness. Pooler coffee history starts with the pooler mill in 1876. The mill was started by John Pooler and his son, George Pooler. The mill grinds coffee beans into Pulp and Roast. In 1916, the mill was bought by J.P. Stevens Coffee Co., which continued to operate it until 1922. From 1922-1967, the mill was owned by Sumner Brewing Company before it became a part of Georgia Coffee Corporation in 1967. In 1978, Georgia Coffee Corporation merged with Pabst Brewing Company and the mills were sold to Pabst again in 1984. Since then, they have been operated as a part of Pabst’s brewing company facilities in Decatur, GA.
Pooler is a small town in the Atlanta metropolitan area, located on I-285 and I-85. The population was 3,569 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Fulton County School District. The community was founded in 1892 by Obadiah Pooler and his family. The name derived from a pond near their home. They erected a log cabin to serve as their home and started farming. In 1905, they moved to what is now the eastern edge of Pooler, and began buying land for themselves and future residents. In 1908, they built a large brick courthouse which served as their court house until it burned down in 1951. They also developed a small agricultural industry which produced hay, oats, potatoes, cornmeal and other goods until it went out of business in the early 1990s. Today, Pooler still has some of its original businesses including meat market (now closed), bakery (closed), gas station (closed) and grocery store (closed). There are also several schools located within or surrounding the community: Pooler Elementary School (grades PK-4), Simpson Middle School (grades 5-8), Hope High School (9-12) and Post Oak Intermediate/Secondary School (K-12).

Pooler is a town in Chatham County, Georgia, United States. The population was 1,080 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. Pooler is named after James Pooler, a settler in what is now Pooler and also served as its first post office. The town was laid out in 1824 by John Pogue as part of a large land grants given to him by President James K. Polk. When it first came into being, Pooler consisted of only two houses and one lane of wide public square that still stands today on the east side of Main Street between Old Bridge Road and Harrison Drive. In 1834 George Washington Williams platted what would become Pooler on land granted to him by the government for his plantation near Athens,Alabama (now Tuscaloosa). Williams built three log homes here – one known as "White House" and two others called "Jefferson". The community's name changed to “Pooler” in 1835 when James Ayer incorporated it as a village with twenty-five residents under the name “Atlanta Township” which he had purchased from Mr. Pryor (the founder of Chattahoochee River) five years earlier. A post office was established at Pooler in 1847; it was moved from Macon to Pooler about 1850 because rail transportation became available there then. In 1865 Anna Blythe married William Hickey who became an important local figure in politics and business affairs until his death in 1922; Mrs. Hickey later intermarried with General Admess Harry Truman Jr., father of Harry S Truman, Ulysses S Grant Woodruff Sr., Franklin D Roosevelt III, etc..
