The history of the Pooler, Georgia Army National Guard is rich and full of story. The unit was organized on July 1, 1903, after the first World War ended. At that time, there were just a few thousand men in the United States Army and only one regiment of artillery. The Pooler detachment was activated on October 25 of that year and soon found itself serving in two wars: the Spanish-American War and World War I. The Battery A (3rd Battalion) was among those called to fight at Santiago de Cuba in 1898. Afterward, it patrolled off Florida’s panhandle until 1917 when it moved to Camp Canby near Tacoma, Washington as part of maneuvers for World War I. On November 8th of 1918, Battery A temporarily transferred to Camp Beall east of Atlanta due to an outbreak of war fever within the military forces then stationed in that city. It arrived at Camp Beall on December 3rd and remained there until February 5th 1919 when it returned home for good. In total, the battery fired over 4 million rounds during its service with the USArmy; more than any other American unit during World War I. In 1920-1921 it served as a training camp for new officers cadets at Fort Riley Kansas before being sent back home for good in 1922. After the end of World War II, there was little need for artillerymen left in America so Pooler’s detachment disbanded on September 15th 1951 without ever again deploying overseas! That same year saw another incarnation though; when Battery G (1st Battalion)was activated from poolers who had been reenlisted sinceWorld War II ended

The Pooler, Georgia Army National Guard was reorganized on November 1, 1907 when the Georgia Militia Act of 1906 was passed. The unit became the 122nd Infantry Regiment on that date. On July 7, 1917, the regiment was redesignated as the 106th Infantry Regiment and activated at Camp Hood in Texas. The regiment moved to Camp Polk in Louisiana before being deployed to Europe in October 1918. Upon their return home, the regiment resumed operations at Camp Polk before being reassigned to duty in District of Columbia during World War II. On September 25, 1945, the armory was closed and all active units were disbanded. Today, there is still a Pooler Army National Guard unit that exists but it is not currently operational due to budgetary constraints.
Pooler is a small town in east Georgia. It is located on the border of Cobb County and Newton County. The population was 1,641 at the 2010 census. Pooler is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. The name "Pooler" comes from the Cherokee word Poola, meaning "a meadow." In 1819, John Pooler founded a logging company in what is now Pooler Village. He died in 1865, but his son continued to operate the company until it merged with another logging company in 1922. In 1870, George Witherspoon bought a farm that he named after himself – Witherspoon's Farm (now Pooler). The first post office was established at Witherspoon's Farm on October 20, 1871. At that time, only Cobb County residents could receive mail here. In 1902, J.P White started an ice cream business here and it has been run continuously ever since! The current owner of Witherspoon's Farm Dairy has owned it since 1988; they are also responsible for building several buildings within the village including: one which houses the pool hall/pool room and two barns/184 stalls which have been used for concerts and other events over the years! The village had its own newspaper until 1965 when it merged with Athens' Daily News to form The Daily News-Poolersville papers still publish their paper today!

Pooler, Georgia is a small town in Cobb County, Georgia. The population was 5,546 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. Pooler is located on the Chattahoochee River between Decatur and Marietta. The first residents of Pooler were farmers who began to arrive in 1820. By 1830, there were only a few homes and a store in the town. The first school was built in 1831 and classes started for students from rural areas near by. In 1848, an act passed by the Georgia General Assembly authorized the construction of a canal through Pooler to supply water to nearby towns and plantations. The canal was completed in 1850 and became known as "The High Water Path". In 1855, when School District No 2 was formed within Cobb County, Pooler became its capital. That year also saw the founding of First Baptist Church which still meets today at 312 W Main St./First Baptist Church (now called First United Methodist). Pooler has seen many changes over its history including becoming a city in 1963 with the construction of Interstate 285; then again as a village in 1974 with establishment of Village Hall; then as an unincorporated community within Cobb County until it became part of Cobb County Municipality on January 1st 1999; then becoming an incorporated municipality named after its founder on January 1st 2001 under new government entity name - Chattahoochee River Community Development Incorporated – CHCDI CHCDI remains an unincorporated community within Cobb County today though it functions as both its municipal seat and home to most local government services including police department and fire department
Pooler was a small community in northwest Georgia. It was established on a tract of land granted to the original settlers by the Cherokee Nation, who were then living in exile in the territory. The community grew rapidly during the first decade of nineteenth century, and soon boasted a store, two churches, and several residential homes. By 1825 Pooler had attained status as an incorporated town. In that year it also became the site of one of the most significant political events in its history: the election of John Cushing as mayor.
