The first coffee beans were grown in the area in 1846 and Milledgeville was founded as a small community of about 100 people. The town grew rapidly during the late 1800s and by 1910 it had an population of 2,000. Coffee production continued to grow throughout the 20th century, reaching a peak in 1959 with 1 million cups produced. However, production began to decline after World War II and by 1970 Milledgeville had only 1,500 customers. In recent years however, interest in coffee has revived and Milledgeville is now home to several high-quality cafés that offer excellent cup of Joe products.

Milledgeville is a city in Fulton County, Georgia, United States. The population was 25,521 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Fulton County. Milledgeville is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. Milledgeville was founded by General Hugh McCullough and his family in 1802 as a small village on the north side of what is now Milledgeville Avenue. McCullough named it after Maj.-Gen. John A. Milliken, who had served with him during the American Revolution and then became an important figure in Reconstruction South Carolina. After years of growth, Milledgeville reached its peak as a manufacturing center around 1930 with production of munitions and other products for World War II and later for post-war America. However, over time mills closed or were taken over by other businesses, contributing to declines in employment and population throughout the decades that followed; until 2000 when Milledgeville's economy resumed robust growth thanks to new investment and development along Interstate 285 (the " Turner Highway"). Today’s downtown district has been revitalized thanks to mixing commercial uses with artsy neighborhoods like Northwood Village east of town and Westwood Village west of town; while also incorporating some historic structures into its mix such as City Hall/Old Courthouse which houses municipal government offices as well as art galleries/museums dating back to 1915–1916 when City Hall was used as a jail before being moved into its current location on First Street in 1918.–Millsgate Mall next door hosts large department stores such as Sears Holdings Corporation (Sears) – once one of Atlanta’s largest employers – but due largely to mall namesake Macy’s decision to close all U.S. locations worldwide last year saw this anchor fall victim to Kroger Co./Jardine & Mathews Inc., which announced plans in November 2018to open six stores permanently inside One Stop Shop mall across from I-285 next door.–In addition several smaller restaurants have opened up recently including Boil & Bite BBQ Cafe inside Walmart Supercenter within walking distance from most apartments/houses making dining out an easy option for locals not only during business hours but day or night too! Milledgeville, Georgia was founded on February 14, 1821 by John Milledge and his family. The town grew quickly due to its location in the heart of the Cherokee Nation and its access to rice fields. By 1830, Milledgeville had a population of over 200 people. In 1832, General Andrew Jackson made Milledgeville military headquarters after his victory at Horseshoe Bend. Milledgeville experienced significant growth during the antebellum period. A cotton gin was built in 1839 and became one of Georgia's most successful businesses. The town also developed into a center for political and social activity. In 1861, Milledgeville was attacked by Confederate forces while under Union control. The attack destroyed much of the town but no one was killed or wounded. After the Civil War, Milledgeville struggled to recover from its destruction. However, it continued to grow as a rural community until the late 1800s when it largely disappeared from history because of agricultural improvements that replaced rice production in southern Georgia with other crops such as corn and soybeans. Today, remnants of Mlledgeville can be found scattered throughout eastern Cobb County and parts of Fulton County
