The company was founded by Mrs. Jantz’s son-in-law, Harry Cagle, who also ran the grocery store on Church Street where customers could purchase their maga coffee products or eat breakfast. Today, maga coffee is still very popular in Milledgeville thanks to its unique flavor and quality. It is the county seat of Fulton County and the home of the Milledgeville–Emmitt Technical College. Milledgeville began as a small settlement on the Chattahoochee River near what is now Emmittsboro. In 1875, Daniel Hinton founded Hope Township in what is now Milledgeville and named it after his brother-in-law, John Emmitt. In 1879, Alfred Millner settled in Milledgeville and built a mill that became one of the largest textile mills in Georgia. The mill closed in 1960 but reopened as the Emitt Technical College in 1978. Milledgeville has been an agricultural community for centuries and remains an important location for agriculture; its production includes corn, cotton, soybeans, sugar beets, potatoes, peas and other vegetables. Manufacturing also continues to play a role in local economy; gas turbines are produced by GE Energy Products Inc., while furniture manufacturer Peddle & Taylor manufactures wood furniture from cedar trees grown hereabouts.

Milledgeville is a city in Cobb County, Georgia, United States. The population was 27,824 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Cobb County. The name "Milledgeville" is said to be derived from the Cherokee word meaning "place where stones are milled." Milledgeville was founded in 1802 by Captain John C. Smith and his family as a small community on the Chattahoochee River between Marietta and Kennesaw Heights. In 1847, Milledgeville became the capital of Georgia when Atlanta was moved from Fulton to Milledgeville. The first post office in Milledgeville was established on October 17, 1802, and it served as the nucleus around which many other communities were founded in what would become Cobb County. By 1830, there were over 100 residents living in Miledgeville. By 1860, there were 2,500 residents living in MiledgeVILLE alone! In 1814-15 General James Wilkinson built a military hospital at what is now known as Wilkinson House (now part of downtown). This hospital would play an important role during both World Wars I and II due to its ability to provide medical care for troops on the front lines. In 1865-66 General David Ewell built another military hospital (later known as Emory Hospital) just south of town near what is now Piedmont Park Boulevard. This hospital would serve as an regional center for medical care for much of north Georgia until it closed its doors in 1993 due to budget cuts within Medicaid/Medicare programs across America. Myleneque Paper Mill opened operations dates back to 1870 with production lasting into the 1920s though most production ceased after World War II due to technological advancements; however some limited operations continued until 1984 when all mills closed down together leaving behind a large paper mill site that still remains today surrounded by residential neighborhoods and parks
