On December 5, 1941, the United States Army Air Forces activated its first bomber squadron at MCDonough AFB in Georgia. The unit was designated the 353d Bombardment Squadron and began operations as a Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress bomber group. The 353dBS was equipped with Boeing B-24J Liberator bombers and served in combat against Nazi Germany from 1942 to 1945. The squadron flew more than 2,000 missions over Japan during World War II and lost 38 aircraft (19% of its total inventory). In 1947, the 353dBS became the 6th Bombardment Wing at McDonough AFB. Inactivated on July 1, 1972 when it merged with the 469th Bombardment Wing to form the current 514th Bombardment Wing.

Mcdonough is a city in Fulton County, Georgia, United States. The population was 20,452 at the 2010 census. It is the most populous city in Fulton County and part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. The city is part of the Georgia State University system. The first settlers arrived in what is now Mcdonough Township on November 12, 1785 by way of boats from Savannah. They were led by Captain James Cook and his party who had just discovered what became Georgia Bayou (now Donelson's Creek) and its potential for rice farming. The town was established on May 3, 1800 by Colonel John Troup as a trading post on the river above present-day Jonesboro with stores and outposts for riflemen against Indian attacks near present-day Chattanooga/Mountain View Heights. Colonel Troup named it after General James McDonough who had served with distinction during the War of 1812 and had given ample military assistance to General Andrew Jackson’s campaign against Native Americans in that conflict. In 1802 Colonel Troup donated land to form the current downtown area including much of what remains today within Mcdonough Park bounded by Congress Avenue on one side and Grayson Street on the other In 1819 an act was passed providing for surrounding communities to be formed when Fulton County was created from parts of Gwinnett and Bibb counties. At this time there were only five settlements around town: McClendon (later known as Decatur), Bankhead, Dunbar (later known as Peachtree City), Old Fort Gibson ( later known as Lithonia) On January 1, 1830, McIntosh County was created from parts of Fulton and DeKalb counties which included all or portions of present-day Mcdonough Township It should be noted that because these changes took place without any vote or ordinance from the local government residents largely ignored them – something which would become common throughout central Georgians during this period When Hawkins resigned his office effective March 4th 1830 he left behind a small but influential group of men led by Major David Boudinot including future Governorof Georgia Daniel Webster Sr., Ziegler Brothers merchants George Waddell & Levi Cushman along with Arent Diggs attorney general Thomas Goldsmith1 One result may have been some confusion over who would take Over Hawkins’ former office should he not return soon upon his resignation2 – an event which would lead to many lawsuits3 between those involved

In 2007, pursuant toOperation 7224th Airlift Wing Pope'sDaylong Reception event attended by over 100 dignitaries including then Army Chiefof Staff General Peter Pace, First Lady Laura Bush And Vice President Dick Cheney There was a total gift history worth $133 million with the majority being sent to active duty members or their families only 6% of total spending amounting $10 million dollars however it does show that air force deployed Gifts are often more significant than just money spent
