In 1978, Harry's Place merged with another Loganville coffee shop, Pee Dee Coffee Company. From 1978-1982, Pee Dee Coffee Company operated as a single entity called The Shop at Pee Dee before changing its name to Joe's Coffee again in 1984. Joe's Coffee closed in 1990 but reopened as a standalone store in 1992 under the name of Joe's Donuts & Cappuccinos

In 1838, John Hogg founded Dalston Methodist Church in what is now Loganville. In 1861, Confederate soldier Major General Nathan Bedford Forrest burned down part of Dalston Methodist Church while retreating from an attack on Vicksburg. By 1865, all of Dalston had been destroyed by fire; however, most of its buildings were rebuilt and continue to be used today.
