The first Europeans to visit Lagrange were members of the Spanish expedition led by Hernando de Soto in 1541. Upon their return, they reported that they had discovered what was then thought to be an entire continent, but only found a small part of it: Florida. For many years thereafter, Spain claimed all of South America and Africa as their own colony; however, this claim was eventually debunked. In 1686, English explorer Sir John Hawkins discovered porpoise oil off the coast of Georgia and decided to exploit it commercially; however, he did not find any coffee beans while exploring. In 1792, French traveler Nicolas-Jacques Conte noted that “a certain place in [Lagrange] produces excellent coffee” which likely refers to Lagrange Coffee Company which began production soon afterwards. In 1802–1803, Major General James Wilkinson founded Fort Gaines on Savannah River in order to protect American shipping during the War for Independence; however, he did not find any coffee beans while visiting or patrolling nearby waters. This probably means that production at Lagrange Coffee Company ceased sometime after Wilkinson's arrival. It should also be mentioned that Fort Gaines was abandoned shortly afterwards due to its low productivity and financial difficulties (although some evidence suggests it may have been abandoned because of malaria). It wasn't until 1824 that Frenchman Jean Baptiste Cointreau founded La Romane Cafeteria on King Street in downtown Atlanta; this establishment became one of the most popular cafe locations throughout metropolitan Atlanta thanks largely to its delicious breakfast food options! La Romane Cafeteria quickly became well-known for its fresh brewed espresso drinks and creative pastries items such as croissants and tartines! The Café also served up various other refreshments such as iced tea (which is still available today) and salads! After nearly 20 years in business – both at La Romane Cafeteria & later on King Street – Cointreau sold his business & relocated back home to France where he continued making quality espresso drinks until his death in 1895! Additionally, La Romane Cafeteria was visited by several famous people including President Abraham Lincoln who stopped by for dinner on several occasions during his time serving as Mayor of Chicago!

Lagrange, Georgia is a small town in Fulton County, Georgia, United States. The population was 2,027 at the 2010 census. It is located on the Eastern border of Fulton County and on the Atlantic coast of Georgia. The first settlers in Lagrange were some Welshmen who arrived in 1786. In 1814, Captain Alfred Ramsey built a sawmill there and began to produce lumber foranton exports. The mill continued to operate until 1911 when it was replaced by an automatic machine shop. In 1921, a post office called Lagrange was established; it opened on October 14 of that year. In 1929, the name was changed to Lagrange-Marstonville after James Marston (1822-1903), a lawyer and legislator from New York City who served as commissioner of Internal Revenue for Georgia from 1895-1900 and as mayor of Atlanta from 1901-1905. In 1957, the community had just over 1,000 residents when it became part of the newly created city of Marstonville. However, due to its small size and lack of infrastructure FSU students staged a sit-in campaign against discrimination they believed they experienced at Marstonville's schools. This led to several local businesses boycottinglagrange while students protested outside city hall; ultimately no action was taken against these businesses until later that year when FSU students again took up this cause
