From then on, it was clear that the military was very important to people in this area. Even after World War II ended, Lagrange continued to be a hotspot for Army activity. In 1951, President Harry S Truman ordered all American forces out of Europe so they could come home and fight in Korea. This move helped increase morale among troops and help keep them focused on their mission instead of getting homesickness Syndrome. As a result of these events, it can be said that the military has always played an important role in Lagrange history.

Lagrange is a city in Cobb County, Georgia, United States. The population was 362 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. The city was founded by John Lagrange on December 12, 1807 as a small trading post on the Chattahoochee River. In 1820, it became a full town and was named for Laurent-Jacques Lacroix, an officer with General Andrew Jackson's army during the Mexican–American War. The name "Lagrange" also originated from a treaty between France and America that gave rise to the place's name: "the junction of two rivers". In 1864, when Confederate General Robert Easley attacked Union troops near Lagrange in what is now Roswell Park Cemetery, his troops burned much of the town before withdrawing. Reconstruction followed and Lagrange lost its status as an independent city in 1907 after being annexed by Atlanta. Lagrange has experienced many changes over time: first as a small community and then as part of Atlanta's growth; finally becoming its current size following incorporation into Cobb County in 1907. One significant milestone came in 1951 when Interstate 5 bypassed downtown Lagrange Center while still traveling through neighboring Roswell Park Cemetery which made it possible for residents to experience downtown activities without having to leave their homes.. On December 12th 1895 - one year after John Lagrange founded Lagradee - he donated land at Roswell Park Cemetery for use as a public school system that would serve all of Fulton County (now Gwinnett County). Because this donation formed part ofAtlanta's original boundaries there are several streets in downtown that were renamed after him including College Street (John Lagere Way), Boulevard de la Concorde (Laurent-Jacques Lacroix Boulevard), Avenue George Washington (George Washington Parkway), Rue Jean Baptiste Say (Jules Ferry Boulevard) and Rue Victor Hugo (Victor Hugo Boulevard).
