Kingsland is located in Fulton County, Georgia. It was founded in 1820 by General James Wilkinson as a small community on the Chattahoochee River. The town grew rapidly and by 1830 it had a population of 1,500. In 1840, Wilkinson moved the town to its present location on the north bank of the Chattahoochee River, just upstream from where it joins the river. The town developed into a prosperous agricultural center with cotton plantations and large mills. In 1882, Kingsland was named one of five towns in Georgia designated as "model villages" for new rural settlements being developed around Atlanta. King's Land continued to be an important economic force in Fulton County until the late 20th century. Today, Kingsland is a quiet residential community with few commercial enterprises and no public services available.

Kingsland is a small town in Clarke County, Georgia, United States. The population was 2,814 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. Kingsland was founded in 1818 by Captain James Kingsbury and his family as a small farming community on the Chattahoochee River. In 1832, Kingsbury donated land to establish what is now Kingsland High School. In 1882, Captain John Wylie bought some of the King's land and established Wylie Institute for Science and Industry (WISI) in honor of his friend and mentor, Governor John A. Macon. In 1966, Dr. Luther Hodges founded Hodges Nursery & Garden Center in Kingsland which has been an anchor tenant ever since. Today Hodges nursery offers over 120 species of plants and trees from around the world as well as more than 20 pet care activities for dogs and cats across five floors including a greenhouse/garden
