Johns Creek, Georgia is a small town in east-central Fulton County, Georgia. The population was 9,604 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. The first gourmet coffee shop in Johns Creek was opened by Harry and Bettye Arnold in 1957. They were the first business to offer specialty coffee within walking distance of their home. Gourmet Coffee has been present in Johns Creek since 1967 when Don Freeman opened his own roastery/cafeteria called Don's Coffee Shop on Abercorn Street near Memorial Drive. Don's original roastings are still popular today and can be found at most Gourmet Coffee locations around the city as well as online. In 2003, Dick Smith began selling Gourmet Coffee from his store location on Ponce de Leon Boulevard across from Coca Cola Refreshments which became known as "The Ghetto". In 2007, John Reynolds reopened his old restaurant (now an ice cream parlor) on McDonough Street which he managed for 36 years before selling it to Dallas Singer who ran it until 2013 when it was purchased by JB Hi-Fi who continues to operate it today as a music venue and retail store with Gourmet Coffee services available inside both locations. In 2016, Joe's Pub Group announced that they will open a new location in downtown Johns Creek called Joe's Place which will feature large Format Flatbread sandwiches made fresh daily using local produce and proteins sourced only from local farms or fisheries located right next door!

The Blue Bottle Coffee Company was founded in 1984 by two Johns Creek residents, Sam Adams and Mike Sexton. Blue Bottle became one of the first commercial grocery stores to carry specialty coffee products. In 2000, Blue Bottle opened its first cafe inside a historical building in downtown Johns Creek. Today, Blue Bottle cafes operate throughout the Atlanta metropolitan area.
Johns Creek is a small town in Fulton County, Georgia, United States. The population was 1,391 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Fulton County. Johns Creek was founded in 1811 by James Robertson and named for John Campbell, 4th Earl of Argyll. The creek ran through what is now the town and served as a watercourse for farmers and their livestock. In 1827, a sawmill was built on the creek by Colonel John Poston to take advantage of the rich loam soils near its source. The mill continued operation until it closed in 1903. The first post office in Johns Creek was established in 1826; it remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1892. The present post office building was built in 1907, and has been used as a municipal courthouse since 1959. In 1865, General Nathan Bedford Forrest set up headquarters near Johns Creek during his failed attempt to invading Atlanta from the north. On November 15 of that year, about seventy men under Forrest's command attacked nine local homes and businesses around Johns Creek before being driven back by militia forces under General Alfred Witherspoon

The name "Johns Creek" was given to the stream by English settlers who named it for John Johnson, a British soldier and surveyor who explored the area in 1763. The creek's current name derives from General James Johnston's victory over Native Americans at Kennesaw Mountain in 1814. The first settler in Johns Creek was George Washington Smith, who arrived in 1785 and built a cabin near what is now downtown Johns Creek. Other early pioneers included Jesse Hawkins, Elijah Woods, Job Morgan and John Pritchard. In 1811-12 George Henshaw bought land on which present-day Johns Creek sits from David Cobb and began building homes. By 1824 most of what are today Fulton County had been surveyed and developed as an agricultural township called "Fulton". In that year Augustus Woodward foundedwoodruff Brewery in what is now downtown Fulton with his brother Daniel Woodward (the only white person to own land within city limits until after World War II). In 1830 Abraham Simons founded Simons' Store on what is now West End Avenue between Marietta Street and Ponce de Leon Boulevard; this store became one of the largest grocery stores in America during its time at that location. A mill known as "Simons' Mills" was located east of present-day Johns Creek on Clay Road between 1800 and 1800; this mill produced flour for breadmaking but also processed cottonseed oil for candles, soapuds (a type of fertilizer) and other products until it closed around 1900 when electricity came to town throughthe Georgia Railroad Company line north from Atlanta. In 1838 three men - Alexander McMillin (from Scotland), William Fenton (of Virginia) and Isaac Hood - sold 1/3 interest in their farmstead lot just east of downtown Fulton to John Lovejoy for $1,000 cash plus 50 acres or more of rolling woods & streams suitable for farming & industry along with two houses & lots – all valued at $10 per acre –containing 500 acres total including Blacksburg Township where Russelville lies Today’s Central High School stands on Lot # 24 close to interchange SR# 6 Nwqwy
