Johns Creek is a small town in Fulton County, Georgia, United States. The population was 1,868 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. The James family settled in what is now Johns Creek in 1793. Their first home was on Turner's Ferry Road, north of present-day Johns Creek Village. The Jameses operated a mill and store there until 1837 when they sold their land to Jno. Meeks and Wife for $1,000. In 1839, Dr. John Crampton founded Jno.'s Medical School in what is now Johns Creek Village and made it his primary focus there from its beginnings. He also developed a large amount of land within the town limits including present-day Midtown Drive and parts of today's University Park neighborhood which were all donated by him to Georgian State College (now Emory University). Jno.'s Medical School closed in 1907 but much of its legacy survives today as Emory University's Rollins School of Medicine - one of the most highly ranked medical schools in the world - which has been here since 1881. In recent years many businesses have moved into Johns Creek Village such as Subway sandwich shops and dry cleaning stores; however, many old downtown businesses remain intact including the John Crampton House Museum which contains relics from early Johns Creek life such as farming tools used by pioneer farmers and household items from that era such as bedding! Today, most people who live near or are associated with Johns Creek are retirees or parents working remotely; however students still attend Emory University through both graduate level programs (in Dentistry & Veterinary Medicine) as well as undergraduate degrees (in Business & Political Science).
Johns Creek was founded by the Cherokee in 1785. It flows through Georgia and Alabama. The creek is a major source of water for Atlanta, which is located on its course.
