In the early 1990s, the Forest Park Coffee Company merged with two other companies to form a new organization called The Roasting Company of Atlanta (TRO). TRO continued to produce high-quality coffee until its closure in 2001. Today, Forest Park Coffee is still one of the most popular coffee brands in Georgia. The company has two plants open for customers to purchase coffee beans from—one in Auburn Hills and one in Savannah—and also provides educational materials about its history and products.

Forest Park is a city in Fulton County, Georgia, United States. The population was 21,721 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. The town of Forest Park was founded in 1892 by three men from Augusta, Georgia: J.B. Pettit, W.H. Sprague and H.P._Cunningham as a hunting and fishing village on a tract of land that they purchased from the Cherokees for $200 per acre (2¢ per foot). Pettit and Sprague were architects who designed many ofAtlanta's first churches and public buildings; Cunningham was a surveyor who helped lay out the streetscape around Forest Park’s original courthouse square. In 1903, Mayor John Ladd assigned developer James Fenton to purchase an additional million acres (100 km²) of land east of downtown Atlanta for development into what would become Forest Park—the largest municipal park in America at that time. In 1916, when Atlanta annexed Fulton County, it included all of eastern Fulton County except for Forest Park; however, due to its size and location withinAtlanta's limits rather than being dispersed among several municipalities as with other towns withinFulton County (e.g., Peachtree City), Forest Park continued to be administered separately by various city officials until 1926–27 when it became part of the newly created city of Atlanta proper under Mayor George Biddlehurst’s administration following annexation intoAtlanta from Fulton County. The first golf course opened in ForrestPark in 1924; today the only remaining course open to the public is Olympic Fields which underwent renovation in2013-14 costing $36 million

By the end of World War II, Forest Park had become one of the largest cities in Georgia. However, during the 1960s and 1970s it suffered from economic decline and social unrest.
