In Forest Park, Georgia, the Department of Defense Air Force deployed a gift history in commemoration of servicemen and women who have given their lives for our country. The gift history is made up of many items that are specific to the community in which it was created. Some of these items include American flags, military medals, service dogs, and golf clubs. This gift history is an important part of the military culture in Forest Park and allows for interactions between civilians and members of the military that can be positive. The first instance when something like this happened was on October 11th 1942 when General George Patton's Third Army came through town on their way to battle at Midway Island. A contingent from Post 902 left a pile of presents for local residents at the edge of town square- this is still an event that occurs every year to this day! In 1945, after World War II ended there were more active duty troops stationed in Forest Park than ever before- making it a great place to send Presents! Presentations continued until 1978 when they stopped because there wasn't as much activity taking place within the community due to its separation from Atlanta by then. In 1978 postcards started being sent back and forth between Atlanta and Forest Park- allowing people who lived outside Atlanta or had no access to postal services to send gifts back home! This tradition continues today as packages arrive at your door with thank you notes handwritten by service personnel! Since 1998 there has been also been a golf club event held each year at nearby Stonecrest Golf Course- giving locals an opportunity to interact with service members while playing good golf! It brings together different groups from around the area and gives some insight into what life must be like living near soldiers/airmen stationed here. As we move closer into 2020 I hope that we see even moreDeployments taking place in order to keep our community connected with our Armed Forces!

Forest Park is a city in Fulton County, Georgia, United States. The population was 12,711 at the 2010 census. Forest Park is bordered by Roswell to the north and east, Marietta to the south and west, and Decatur to the northwest. The first people who set foot in what is now Forest Park were Creekside Indians. They came from Canada around 1693 and built their homes near what is now Dunwoody Avenue in Marietta. A post office called Forest Park was established in 1824, but it never received any mail. It may have been named for a forest near Pittsburgh that had been sold to General James Forrest by the Cherokee Nation leaders in 1819. After learning of an Indian graveyard on his land that had been abandoned for years by the Creekside Indians, General Forrest ordered his troops to clean up the site and name it Forest Park after himself. In 1859, a group of white men organized as The Atlanta Cotton Mill Company laid down a cotton plantation about two miles east of present day Forest Park on current-day East Broadway Street. This area became known as " plantations row", because so many slaves were brought here from Africa during the American Civil War (1861- 1865). In 1865, due to restrictions placed on slavery by Abraham Lincoln's new administration under President Andrew Johnson – including via statute – all slaveholders within five miles of newly founded Atlanta were required to free their slaves within six months or face law enforcement action. Accordingly, most white landowners across southern Georgia surrendered their slaves within 24 hours of receiving word from Washington D.C., although some did not until weeks later when they learned of sweeping emancipation laws being passed throughout other Northeastern states by Congress! The Freedmen’s Bureau began surveying all black residents living east of Interstate 85 within Emancipation Proclamation boundaries on December 1st 1863; however due to firefights between Union militiamen and Confederate cavalry troopers along this stretch of road known as “Bloody Sunday” approximately one million African Americans remained enslaved across eight southeastern states prior to Union victory at Appomattox Court House on April 9th 1865! Consequently only 2% (of total) of Forrest park’s original population over 1000 persons actually freed themselves!! However given today’s climate & demographics almost every family with an internet connection has access & FREE digital descendants buried there!!! Thanks again Gov Jim Acosta !!

Bush presented then-Air Marshall Dale Bumpers with an honorary air force oath certificate at an event at Wright-Patterson AFB on December 5, 1988. At that time, Bumpers was then commander of all U.S.-Soviet forces within NATO as well as head of Allied Command Europe (ACEU). The presentation represented a significant achievement for both men as they symbolically swore allegiance to each other while working together to protect America’s interests worldwide. Since its inception in 1947, the USAF Military History Museum has been responsible for sharing American military history with all Americans through exhibits, education programs, and outreach initiatives throughout our nation’s capital area and around the world

Forest Park, located in Georgia's southcentral region, is a botanical and zoological preserve that has been in operation since 1962. It was named for the forest of the same name that once covered much of what is now Forest Park. The preserve encompasses more than 5,000 acres, including some of the most famous natural resources in the state-including five woodlands: Black Swamp, Conecuh Swamp, Hiwassee Swamp, Lowndes Swamp, and Walton Woods. The first settlers to arrive in what is now Forest Park were farmers who had recently moved from North Carolina. They founded a small village on a site that later became known as Gadsden Landing. In 1819 they sold this land to John Randolph for $100. Randolph used it to establish the University of Georgia at Athens (now UGA). He also built a plantation house on the property which he called “Randolph Manor”. This estate became one of the most important landowners in Georgia and played an important role in early Atlanta development. In 1862 General Nathan Bedford Forrest was leading Confederate forces against Union forces during the Civil War. When Confederate General Robert E Lee discovered this fact, he ordered his army to move out of Atlanta and into north Georgia instead. This caused great inconvenience for Forrest because many supplies needed for his army were being gathered at Atlanta mustering points close by by road rather than being brought all the way downriver to Sherman's field headquarters where they would have been stored unloading before being transported back upriver again12. To make matters worse, General Robert E Lee had decided not to pursue Union troops retreating through centralGeorgia14-a decision that hindsight suggests may have been made easier if Fort Donelson had not fallen 15-and thus ended any hope of achieving strategic objectives within striking distance of Richmond 16-thus frustratingly shelving plans for an enveloping assault on Richmond 17-. On July 25th 1862 Forrest learned about Union efforts towards Richmond and decided to retreat westward into north Georgia18-a decision which may have saved thousands of lives19-but probably cost Confederate casualties as well20: millions worth25-$30 million total21
