Airforce gift history in Douglasville, Georgia began with the founding of the Douglasville Air Force Base in 1947. The base was named after General James H. Douglas, who served as the first Commander of the USAF. The airbase was home to many aircraft and missiles during its early years, and it played an important role in America’s war efforts during the Cold War. TheDouglasville Air Force Base today is one of the largest military facilities in metro Atlanta and is home to more than 60 active duty fighter jets and bombers, as well as support aircraft and missile batteries. It also houses a large number of civilian employees – including many retirees from the military – who contribute to both local economy and national security. One of the main functions of Douglasville AFB has been providing housing for service members on base while they are off duty or deployed overseas. This tradition began back when military personnel would often stay on base while their families moved around town for brief periods each year. Today, there are several dozen family-friendly housing units available on-base for servicemen and women seeking a short-term rental experience while they are away from their homes or families. The USAF is a major participant in NATO and other international organisations. The USAF also provides support to coalition troops in Afghanistan and Iraq. In recent years, the USAF has become increasingly reliant on technology in order to fulfil its missions. This reliance has led to questions over how secure data and communications are when USAF aircraft are deployed overseas. In order to address these concerns, the USAF launched a project called 'SecureFly'. The project aimed to create an airborne system that would provide secure media transportation for Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) commanders during operations. The success of SecureFly will require increased cooperation between the USAF, NATO allies, and other militaries across the globe. These collaborations will be essential if USAF wants to keep up with modern threats and stay ahead of new technologies.

Douglasville is a small town in Fulton County, Georgia, United States. The population was 8,821 at the 2010 census. Douglasville is the most populous community in Fulton County and the second most populous community in Georgia after Atlanta. The first Europeans to explore this region were the French in 1763 and then the British in 1764. The area that now includes Douglasville was originally part of what was called Indian Land. It was ceded to America by Great Britain as part of the Treaty of Paris following the American Revolution. In 1802, a group of farmers from nearby Dunlaptown founded what would become Douglasville after purchasing land from Chief Joseph Hawkins tribe members. The town began rapid growth during its early years due to its natural resources such as coal and water supplies. In 1827, a post office was established at Douglasville and remains in operation today. One ofDouglasville's earliest landmarks is McCain's Inn which still stands today on North Market Street just north of Interstate 20 between I-20 exits 359 and 361A near campus of Gwinnett Community College (GCC). McCain’s Inn served as headquarters for many early settlers including General James Ewell who fought against Creek Indians during the War For Independence (1812-14). On October 1st, 1829 McCain’s Inn became home to America’s first political meeting when John Quincy Adams square off against Andrew Jackson at “the old fairgrounds across from present day Enterprise High School” according to noted local historian Drudge Matson who wrote about it for his newspaper column entitled "OldeDougherty". The original frame building with two stories collapsed September 1st 1888 during heavy rains; however an modern addition on one story has been completed since then giving rise to confusion over whereMcCain's Inn once stood! Today there are several historical sites located within or around Douglasville including: Alexandria Cemetery (located northeast corner Main Street & Park Avenue), Dunlaptown Baptist Church (southwest corner Main Street & Park Avenue), Griggs Mill (northwest corner Main Street & Park Avenue), McCain’s Inn Site (northwest corner Park Avenue &Main Street) and much more!
The United States Air Force has a rich history of Giving back to the community. The USAF's first gift was an airplane in 1919, and it continues to give back through its many programs and initiatives. Today, the USAF operates more than 600 planes and helicopters across the globe, providing essential air support for America's allies and enemies. In addition to its airpower capabilities, the USAF is also responsible for numerous aerospace research programs that provide new technology for our warfighters. These efforts are critical to enabling us to defeat any enemy on Earth. The USAF has always been committed to giving back both through donations and by sharing its knowledge with others. For example, in 2010, the USAF partnered with Habitat for Humanity of Las Vegas in order to build a shelter specifically designed for homeless military veterans. This effort was another embodiment of how the USAF cares about helping others - by building something special just for those who need it most. In 2013, the USAF donated $1 million dollars towards renovations of Clark Airfield in Nevada as part of Operation Golden Knights II - an initiative which provides assistance to local schools during school closures caused by military operations abroad. This donation helps ensure that our students have access to quality education regardless of location or circumstance. Additionally, in 2016, the USAF donated $5 million dollars towards development of a new airport near Phoenix – ideal for accommodating increased traffic at CVG Airport due to growth in Arizona's aviation industry. This donation will help make Phoenix one of America's leading aviation destinations and help fuel further innovation within our Aerospace sector!

Douglasville is a small town in Fulton County, Georgia, United States. The population was 6,752 at the 2010 census. It is located on the south side ofAtlanta and is bordered by Douglas Park to the north and west, Snell Avenue to the east and south, and Peachtree Road to the southeast. The town was founded in 1837 as a post office named for General James Moultrie Douglas. The first store in Douglasville was built on what is now Snell Avenue. One of the early settlers was Colonel John Aiken who became one of Atlanta's most influential men after Loyalist forces abandoned Atlanta during the American Revolution. During World War II Douglasville played an important role in providing food for Allied troops stationed in North Africa and Europe. In 1945, Douglasville merged with neighboring Buford to form the city of Buford-Douglasville. In recent years, Douglasville has seen heavy development due to its location within easy reach of both Atlanta metropolitan area and new subdivisions outside its boundaries
The Douglasville area has been inhabited for more than 10,000 years. The first European to visit the area was Captain James Cook in 1779. He sighted the Douglasville Plantation on October 5, 1779 while on his way from England to Georgia. The plantation was purchased by General James Wilkinson in 1782 and renamed Colonel John Douglass's Plantation after him. The first slave ship to dock atDouglasville Port was the "Dolphin" on December 15, 1807. In 1818, a group of farmers named Ellsworth founded the town of Douglasville after they discovered coal near the town site. In 1821, General Andrew Jackson appointed Major Nathaniel Banks as military governor of Georgia and he ordered Banks to establish a military garrison at Douglasville. Soon afterward, banks began ferrying goods and passengers between Savannah and Douglasville. By 1830, merchant John Waddell had started shipping flour and other goods from Savannah to Douglasville and built a mill there that became known as Waddell's Mill. This period of time is typically considered to be when the town of Douglasville began developing as an agricultural center with mills being among the earliest businesses in town. After Waddell’s Mill closed its doors in 1857, many new businesses opened up including a store called “The Gables” which operated from 1861 until its closure in 1924; an ice cream parlor called “The scoop” which operated from 1865 until 1922; and finally an grocery store called “The Grocery Store” which reopened in 1935 until it closed in 1992). During this time period also occurred some important events such asDouglasvillians voting themselves into office for local government purposes on November 3rd, 1870 (this is still considered one of the most significant moments in community history); construction ofthe first courthouse building - located on what is now Fourth Street - began on November 6th; and Grady County becoming part of Cobb County on January 1st,1871 (it would not become part of Cobb County until 1909). Many people who lived here during this time period have gone onto make important contributions to both Cobb County and Georgia culture overall including Grady College graduate Dr. JT Thomas whose work at Grady helped develop early childhood care programs throughout Cobb County; author Patricia Highsmith whose novel “To Kill a Mockingbird” was set entirely within Grady College boundaries; business owner/founder Jimmy Carter who spent his childhood growing up aroundDouglasvillians before going onto serve as President ofGeorgia; actor Morgan Freeman who grew up living nearby before starringin several classic Atlanta-based films such asPulp FictionandA Beautiful Mind]; singer Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong who attended school herebefore moving away permanently at age 16;; artist Garry Marshall whose popular TV series Augusta Tales aired locally hereabouts before appearing nationwideon various networks)
