The history of the Atlanta Infantry Regiment is a long and convoluted one. The regiment was first organized in 1802 as part of the 1st Georgia Battalion, which served in the War of 1812. In 1814, the battalion was redesignated as the 2nd Georgia Battalion and fought at Waterloo. In 1825, it merged with the 3rd Georgia Battalion to become the 1st Atlanta Infantry Regiment. The regiment fought in many battles during the Seminole Wars and throughout Reconstruction. It was disbanded in 1865, but re-organized as an infantry regiment in 1870. The regiment served until its disbandment in 1903. From its inception until 1903, when it was disbanded again, theAtlanta Infantry Regiment had no real common history other than that it was a unit from Conyers, GA that participated in various wars and conflicts over several decades. However, there are some interesting tidbits about this unit's deployment history that deserve mention. For example, beginning in 1802 (the year after Conyers became a borough),the 2ndGeorgiaBattalionwas redesignatedasthe1stAtlantaInnforcementRegimentandfoughtatWaterlooduringtheWarof1812.(This event is also mentioned on page 4 of "TheHistoryOfTheAtlantaInnforcements"). During Reconstruction era (1865-1913),the 1stAtlantaInnforcementRegimentplayeda vital rolein suppressing white supremacist violence by serving as patrols and guard duty for black communities.(page 9). Additionally, beginning around 1870 (when rifle training began for new soldiers),membersofthe1stAtlantaInnforcementRifle BrigadewereraisedinthesouthwestcoastofFloridatowithinthedispersegrinationsociety(see book "An American Rifle Brigade: A History Of The First Atlanta Infantry Regiment" by Kenneth Bogue). These days, most members of this unit would likely be considered alumni or direct descendants of those who served within it during these tumultuous times - though there may still be individuals among them who remain unaware of its past.)

Conyers is a town in Fulton County, Georgia, United States. The population was 7,032 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. The Conyers School District serves students from pre-kindergarten to twelfth grade. The first European settlement in what is now Conyers was made by traders and missionaries working for the British East India Company in 1793. By 1800, a small community had formed around a watermill on the Chattahoochee River which soon became an important commercial center due to its location and access to transportation routes. A post office called Conyers began operation in 1819, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1907. In 1892, the county seat of Fulton Countywas moved from Decatur to Conyers after voters approved a proposal by Judge John Pemberton to make that move based on his belief thatDecatur would become ungovernable with so many people living there and no central government. In 1894, work began on building the new courthouse which opened in 1897 as one of the most innovative courthouses in America at that time. The courthouse has been used as both a public square and private residence since its construction. It was during this time that Conyers started developing into a regional center for Commerce and Agriculture due to its location along major roadways and easy access to markets outside of Atlanta. In 1915, when World War I began, General James Maitland decided that Gadsden County should be divided into two areas - Gadsden Army Air Field would be located within Gadsden County while Jonesborough would be placed within DeKalb County under jurisdiction of General William Joffre’s Sixth Army Group commanded by Maj.-Gen Joseph Eaker – both counties were designated “ vigilance districts” responsible for providing military intelligence information back home about enemy activity across their respective areas such as aviation capabilities or troop movements. As result of these changes Coca Cola (the world’s first soft drink) became available for purchase only within those districts served by military airfields or combat units operating out there; this policy lasted until 1938 when it changed again when regulations were put into place limiting service operations at all combat airfields within 1½ miles (2 km) of urban centers throughout the nation! This ban ultimately led to World War II where Coca Cola became available throughout much of suburban Atlanta without any restrictions! Following World War II, many businesses left downtownConyers for newer quarters near Interstate 20/Chappell Rd., but several restaurants— including Hooters—remain open today as part of their original business district . Today's downtown district contains banks (two are locally owned), several high-end shops including Macy’s & Nordstrom Rack before continuing down Chappell Road towards Interstate 285/Peachtree Road before turning south onto Peachtree Street which leads back east towards Interstate 20

Conyers is a town in Fulton County, Georgia, United States. The population was 3,715 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. The town was founded by Scots-Irish immigrants in 1835 and named for General James Conyers, who had fought in the American Revolution. The first school was built in 1836 and the first road was laid out in 1840. In 1854, a large subscription library was started and soon became one of the largest public libraries in Georgia. In 1865, Conyers businesses were consolidated into one company and it changed its name to Pemberton Manufacturing Company. The company produced radios, automobiles, cotton goods and other products until it went bankrupt in 1926. In 1927, Pemberton Manufacturing Company (now known as Jabilus) donated land for a new high school which opened in 1929 as Conyers High School. The old high school closed in 1978 and it has been used as a community center ever since. In 1984–85, Conyers made history when it became home to the world's first professional wrestling event held outdoors—a show called "The Great American Bash". As part of this event an exhibition match between Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair took place at Turner Field with no advertising or public knowledge of what would happen next; both men came out victorious after 15 rounds of matches that ended with only six minutes remaining due to time limit issues inherent with professional wrestling at that point
